   Is it possible to go from 8v to 16v?? Or does it take a complete engine switch??

   I dont believe the 16v head can be fitted to the 8v bottom end...
   
   The best/simplest way is to use a complete 16v replacement engine

   by any chance you have any idea what a 1.6i 16v engine would cost? Or should i directly go to a 2.5 Turbo charged engine?

   the head bolts on the 16v head dont match up with the head on the 8v block unfortunately

   you can put the vts head on the vtr bottom end but you'll need the pistons modded. i.e valve cut outs.
   
   Easier and cheaper to get the full engine.
