Cituning kits

hi,
ok i have the muny to buy the stage 3 saxo vts turbo kit, do you guys think its worth the muny and has anyone got anything from cituning before, whats their customer service and products like? i aint getting them to fit it as i know more closer and cheaper ppl to fit it to the car, and also i wont have the car yet by the time i pick up the kit.

My friend also wants to order a vtr kit stage 2 i think and he wants to know if anyone thinks its worth the muny and what is it like for performance.

If anyone has any information about the stage 3 turbo for the vts please repley as i would love to hear more about a stage 3 turbo'd vts before i think of spending 3700 on the kit lol

Thing is i am living in australia at the moment and its 50% - 50% that we are coming back to the uk in 2-3months, i had a saxo vts in the uk but sold it for a bmw 328 coupe( wish i never i loved the vts) but now i want another one.
There is no such thing as a saxo in australia

at the minute i am driving a ford falcon 4.1 v6

yes sounds fun but not as fun as a vts

I have the muny for to buy a saxo vts when i come over aswell, looking at a 98 - 2000 model, low miles as possible lol but i am buying the kit before i get the car as i know if i have the car i will waste the muny for the turbo on nothing, if i do it the other way round i will get the car.

I emailed them asking if i need to buy anything extra for the kit and they said i only need the oil and coolant and a few other small components(sorry for spelling) but what other little things do i need so was no use asking as they told me stuff i knew. half of my questions come back unanswered to be honest.

anyways here is info about each kit

Stage 1

Although I have bought bits from them (Cituning) and have found their service more than exceptable but I must admit all I have ever bought is styling items that are off the shelf.

Alot of people have had bad things to say about Citunings products, whether any are backed up by people that have actually had equipment fitted and not been happy with it or just a friend of a friend of a friend once had one.

Best thing to do is to phone up ask to talk to somebody about the kit your interested in, ask if they have a demonstration car or can give you some contact details of customers and their cars that you can speak with and then see what you think.

Some people say there are better kits and better companies but like I said I dont know if these recommendations come from unhappy customers or not.

Your know more than anything we can say when you talk to them in the face

I have heard a lot of good things about carworx. Maybe worth chatting to Will about it. He's supposed to be very knowledgeable.

You could go;
DP manifold
DP down pipe
Off the shelf garrett turbo (I would recommend a small GT series, no bigger than a 25 to start)
Larger injectors (depend on the turbo you go for)
Oil pipes (very easy to make up your self and return via hole in block near oil filter)
Mocal remote oil filter kit
Air filter
Cheap front mounted IC (I would go for the Pace IC/RAD combo if you had the cash)
Boost pipes (very easy to make)
Dump valve (whatever sort you like really)
2 bar map sensor
two thick head gaskets (unless your going really big on boost this will be ok)
remap (of if you have the cash stand alone)

It works out much cheaper than the citunning kit and is a much better kit.

Best thing is still to phone each one up and see what they recommend for your budget and requirments

thank you every much for the information guys, after a long hard think i went with cituning, i got the stage 3 turbo kit, order is getting processed at this moment tho i aint back in the uk yet and aint got the car to put it on yet either, i am getting it sent to parents houses for something to look forward to getting back, as i know i aint missed the weather and the prices of things in the uk lol i thought i would try cituning as no one knows much about their kits which is daft but if no one gives them ago no one will find out, been used as a crash test dummy, but hey its all in good fun i guess

If anyone knows of any garages that is good at setting up turbo kits on cars around the north east of england please let me know, as the last garaged i asked newcastle they said they would do it but they just tried it on a 206 and had to take it off because the f##ked the engine

If your going with the Cituning kit personally Id say get them to fit it.

They have built turbo VTR's and VTS's in the past so have a word with them when you get back in the UK, its not really the fitting its the setting up that requires the skill, put a request out in the regional area your come under when you return to UK and ask about for good rolling road companies.

If no luck there put a call out for advice from turbo owners on here to see who they used to setup their cars and other helpful advice on blowing the TU lump.

that stage 3 kit excluding the water injection is most others (e.g. carworx, dp) stage 1 entry level, I would never dream of turboing a saxo unless it had everything that stage 3 had and thats basic stuff.

I dissagree, it all depends on how much power you want.

Not everybody is looking for tyre shreading performance just enought to enjoy the car and still have the turbo. Budget also comes into it but it IS a good point.

If the money was the same and you got something with the others you DIDNT get with his kit Id ask some questions about why.

considering how many years people have been developing turbo kits on there car I have to whole heartidly agree with Ratty (considering he was one of them thats been doing it for years)

Cituning stage one kit is a receipe for disaster. No fueling mods or cooling or compression changes and running 6 psi. Injectors running at their limited capacity by the ecu on a nice warm day. Yum melted pistons. Even the cituning stage 3 kit doesnt include any change to compression

Carworx were offering there own "stage 3" style conversion for not much more than this stage 1 crap. Also after ahving seen a number of these conversions in real life i would rather spend a bit more on a better kit.

No point doing it to a budget if your going to be replacing and having to upgrade parts anyway. Spend smarter not harder... or soemthing

In my humble opionion, the VTS is quick enough as standard. If I were starting again I'd look at doing all the other things, brakes, suspension, Diff etc first. They make it more fun and don't fuck the reliability. I'd go as far as to say that brakes and a diff are worth about 60bhp on track compared to engine tuning

after reading and speaking to a couple of other companies about the citunning kit its commical, thats even the ones they fitted, the lack of internal mods/fueling/cooling is laughable tbh.

and after seeing the work done by 'cosworth' for compressedfrutinajar sport id personally never touch them either. i know the ford boys wank over them, but once again a company whos reputation of work isnt very good

Agree with that, Im not quite sure why people are so obessed with blowing the TU lump. Its fair enough to admit most young drivers will put their 90bhp VTR in a ditch or round a lampost so adding all the extra power is beyond me unless your track bound then I say stick to simple breathing mods and maybe cams.

Got nothing against powerfull engines but only in cars where the driver can cope with it.

Peoples driving ablity doesnt increase with the size of their wallet!

you want the pedal down comming out of the corner to be fast, speed exiting the corner carried onto the straight means alot, having boost kicking in from a turbo is something personally i wouldnt want.

if i had to go boost it would be from a supercharged application.
