#2Im pretty sure it won't.
The manifolds are different between the 8v and 16v
If your looking for a 16v mainfold thats not gona break the bank but will still perform well check out www.kam-racing.com as they stock stainless steel 4-2-1 4branch manifolds at a good price

#3nope its diffrent
-
#4thanks.also whats the most hottest cam i could run on my vtr.would love it be able to rev realy high and still have good power past 6000rpm.and what kind of bhp increase with it.already got ported head, induction and full exhaust system.
-
#5different port spacings.
you need throttle bodies to run really mad cam set ups -
#6Itsafastworld85 where can one purchase these throttle body setups? got a fella on another forum who has them but he cant remember where he got them.
wont be right now sort of thing, future plan, and sorry for hijacking the thread! -
#7any decent company who sells motoring products can sell themQuote:Itsafastworld85 where can one purchase these throttle body setups? got a fella on another forum who has them but he cant remember where he got them.

GMC, pug performance, carworx etc.. qep do DTH for 16v not sure about 8v.
unless he has motorbike throttle bodies when he will have had a manifold made for them (inlet) -
#8can still run a pretty lairy cam without T/B's though mate

#9good good, not looking for huge gains tbh, just something that can go when needed. **I'm not a racer** so its just for fun, or to prove a point, and track days.
I dont know the first thing about cams so i have no idea what setup i would need on a VTS mk2, 03 plate. -
#10if your after some decent cams, i'd recommend, kent pt51, piper 285 or catcams 708, you'll see decent gains with any of these, but you'll need to buy the pulleys aswell!Quote:good good, not looking for huge gains tbh, just something that can go when needed. **I'm not a racer** so its just for fun, or to prove a point, and track days.

#11i guessed i would have to, when it comes to this i've no idea!
thinking about cams, pulleys, manifold, remap. worth doing or is there more for me to think about
-
#12cams and a remap should be the last thing on your list, make sure you have all the breathing mods such as:
Full exhaust system
Enclosed ind kit/ panel filter
Manifold
then look into getting cams and a remap, with these mods (obviously depending on which make/size/etc you go for) should see 150bhp with ease! -
#13got the magnex 3.5" inward rolled exhaust system, lookijng about for a PiperX Viper at the moment.
manifold will be ordered as soon as cash is available
-
#14i have a viper on mine, and tbh, for the money you pay, your better off buying a Raceland enclosed with green filter for £80
-
#17do they? worth uprating or not fastworld?
-
#18ok Ryan you smart ass!
i didn't claim to be a genious on cams, i was just giving advice, but surely uprated pulleys are recommended!? -
#19why standard pulleys are adjustable? why pay £120 for a set of pulleys because they look good!Quote:ok Ryan you smart ass!

i know of several 16V engines running big power on standard pulleys!
its only the 8v that needs an ajustable one as it doesnt come as standard. -
#20not in my opinion i dont think theyre worth the cash.
unless they changed it on uber late models to have non adjustable ones (which i doubt) as i said to seamer, i know of many people on cammed engines etc. who didnt buy shiney pulleys
-
#21so its only the 8v that requires them then??
well..... everyday's a school day with you Ry! -
#23Standard pulley BO!
-
#24i see!
didnt know you had a 16v on T/B's -
#26ahh you sly dog you
-
#28very true mate!
cheers for the help fella and you S34MER
