If your down 40mm all round do you need to adjust the brake load compensator on the rear of the car??

#2Depends how heavy you are on the brake pedal
If you're getting the rear wheels to lock before the front, it needs adjusting. But personally I've never found it actually needed doing as most of those compensators are pretty crap at functioning in general. If its not locking up under hard braking I'd say you'd be ok personally. -
#3K cheers bud the cars not lowered yet but was just pre empting having to do it while it was getting lowered but we'll see. If I end up in a hedge I will let you know

If you do get any issues its pretty easy to adjust, if it isn't rusted. -
#5what ecu do you have? 3 plug cars dont have a bias valve, they have EBD.

#9i got the same issue on my vtr car bin lowered 40mm all round and i just changed all the brakes green stuff pads all round and brembo performance 20 grooved disc since i fitted these the rear locks up easy or when the car is light say on a bend went 2 adjust seized solid sprayed with some wd40 gonna have a play 2moz

trial and error as there is no exact science or compare a standard and lowered valve!
take it easy untill its properly calibrated!

#14my mate says these tend to jam after a certain age. so you may need to replace it or un seize it. If u bypass it would the rear lock up all the time aye cos his work bypass them on vans all the time lol

or is your rear lower than the front? -
#16mine 40mm all round and i have never had a problem, even when i had my standard brakes. however i do have drums on the back, dont know if that makes any difference

#17iv got brembos on the front and my rars still lock up 1st!

#18Due to less weight at the rear and also when braking everything is thrown forward so rear will lock up first in most cases. having a stripped saxo wont help matters and i dont think the bias valve and the EBD are any good on a saxo anyway

#20rip the valve off and put a t-piece in it's place or fit a proper manually adjustable bias valve.

#21If you put a t piece in untill you fix it just remember not to late brake etc as you will lock up and prob spin out

When they are working, should the arm be able to move by hand or are they quite stiff any way?
Ive bought three from breakers and they are all solid. Ive soaked them in oil for 3 weeks and they aint budging!
Any ideas (apart from buying a new one) ? -
