a turbo can be fitted but what is your budget??
have a look in the link in my sig -
#6well i am lookin 2 spend around 2k but i will hopefully carry out the conversion myself
-
#7£2k on parts and doing the work yourself will get you alot of secondhand parts and it will be suck it and see as to how long it lasts, there are a number of ways of doing it but you get what you pay for, im building a new engine on mine at the mo and £2k wont even buy me the managment and manifold.
my 1st conversion on my car was done on the cheap and that cost a bit more than 2k, but that was about 4 or 5 years ago and more bits are available for the TU turbo wise, how good are you with engines as its not as easy as it sounds to bolt on a turbo -
#8£2k for a Turbo conversion, my advice is keep saving, if your serious about it matey. have you considered things that are not included in the conversion aswell, such as; extra insurance, extra fuel costs, bigger brakes, uprated suspension, etc, etc??
-
#9You can do it on 2k but by god you better know the right people to get it all done, my conversion is just below 1000 at the moment will go up to 1500 once it is properly mapped etc

#10well i have just rebuilt ma m8s redtop engine and i am halfway though puttin a 2l redtop in the back of a corsa with me m8Quote:£2k on parts and doing the work yourself will get you alot of secondhand parts and it will be suck it and see as to how long it lasts, there are a number of ways of doing it but you get what you pay for, im building a new engine on mine at the mo and £2k wont even buy me the managment and manifold.

#112k and DIY isn not going to get it done!
When it comes to mods such as forced induction you dont want knackered/substandard parts!
It could all easily go up in smoke!
mapping itself would be tricky DIY -
#12were did you get all your parts from, and who's doing your conversion for you??Quote:You can do it on 2k but by god you better know the right people to get it all done, my conversion is just below 1000 at the moment will go up to 1500 once it is properly mapped etc
what have you done to the car so far to accommodate for the extra power and higher compression? -
#13all my parts have come from ebay like I/C reconed turbo, boost pipes etc.
Using a decompression plate from feriday, VTS injectors for fueling and dastek to control it all, all other sundries are being done for next to nothing by a mate who has done his own vtr turbo.
Bulk cost of mine is just parts so far -
#14dont tell me you bought one of those kits?Quote:all my parts have come from ebay like I/C reconed turbo, boost pipes etc.

personally i wouldn't buy turbo parts from ebay! -
#17no mate see my thread on ssc, I am only turboing a 1.1 2002 mpi engine
No need for 5th injector on mine I have just gone for 4 bigger ones to start with.
GTTi turbo, manifold adaptor, diy mandrel bent down pipe etc
I am sure others that know me will explain a bit more.
Regards suspension and brakes it has billie sports and hispec 4 pots so more than up to the job of 126bhp -
#18^ oh right! that spohia bush!
cary on the good work! ignore me! -
#19Well my m8 is going 2 fabricate and exhaust manifold and down pipe and any other pipe work needed. I already have a new volvo c70 d5 intercooler from work which i have trial fitted. I will be having any slicon hoses built at highbury hoses. I also have some gti6 brakes for the front and i have tarox discs at rear. I will be using mega squirt ecu and will hopefully have a hand setting it up on the rollers at hill power as my m8 is good friends with nick hill
