Another gearbox problem

   I fear the worst with this but thought i would run it by you guys for your advice.
   
   I have a noist that is coming when i pull away in 1st and 2nd. Really difficult to describe it but its a hell of a noise. Its a continuos whine that sometimes also has a click sound that goes with it also. It also gets lounder as you start off and then seems to go when you get in the higher gears.
   
   I have changed the gear oil and made no difference. The car has had a new n/s driveshaft (fitted before i got the car) The clutch opperation is very smooth and lite.
   
   Any ideas?

   Does it do it if you just rev the engine?

   no not from a standstill.
   
   It happens after i have engaged first gear and then release the clutch to pull away, you also get it in second. dont hear it in third and upwards

   I'm not 100% sure to be honest. I would hate to give you the worng advice. It's probably best you get it checked out by a mechanic.
