#2green pads are always recomend but seeing as ur running 4 pots
-
#5Personally, green stuff are rubbish.
Mintex M1144's would be a better all-round choice. -
#6warmed up.. theyre crap whatever! lol!Quote:once greens have been warmed up they grip better im my experiences, takes a few lock-ons to heat em up

i had a set never again, wouldnt pay several hundred for 4pots and put those awful pads in pesonally.
there are lots of saxo owners who will agree theyre crap to -
#7never tried them. heard loads of bad reports, except Tam seems to rate them and he doesnt exactly drive like a granny
-
#9Get some from Rally Design mate, they offer Wilwood pads on there. Give them
a ring and find out the best ones for your needs.
Heres the link:

Not sure what pads I have with my wilwoods but they came with the set. -
#11Got green stuff on my 4 pot's and to be honest..
there the worst investment i ever made. -
#12Tam has no problem with greens on his car, but bear in mind his AX weighs about 650kgs and, though he said they were fine round Kames, that was mainly due ot him not bothering with anything so mundane as braking, which was why he was so damn fast!
I ran 1144s for ages on my Hi Specs, and they were fine, good from cold, on the road, track, everywhere. I'm now running Halford's efforts like Ryan and they're fine on the road -
#13i ran greenstuffs on my 205 mi16 with massive disks and I could barely lock the brakes they were so poor
-
#14the halfrauds septhals are not to bad are they? bite well from cold? stand up to track abuse, obviously no where near as good as a set of mintex pads but for £14 does it really matter lol!
-
#16I have 1144s on my 6 pots and I can honestly say I won't even consider anything else.
Had Greenstuff - Crap all the time
Had Redstuff - Crap Most of the time
Had lockheed pads (budget) better than both the EBC's
Now on 1144s - Better than anything I've had and they do EXACTLY what you want them to do ALL the time -
#17I'm using Tarox fast road pads on my 306 brake set up. I don't have anything to compare them to, can anyone comment on whether they are 'supposed' to be good or not?
-
#19I ran DS2500s, halfords specials and M1155s in mine, and drove ians car with M1144s in. If the ferodo were proper fitment they would be my recommendation. However they don't so for hispecs i would say M1155s. for wilwoods you can't get mintex iirc, but can get DS2500s.
Tam uses redstuff ceramic ones or something. and as you say his car is uber light. and he ruins one pair of discs per track day. -
#21Your right as always o mighty one, when they need replacing it's either halfords spefals or mintex (i think they come well advised). See how funds are closer to the time.
-
#22mintex are obviously the better option, but theres a few of us with the cheapo pads and dont have any problems with them at all. it depends how much you kill pads 2bh!Quote:Your right as always o mighty one, when they need replacing it's either halfords spefals or mintex (i think they come well advised). at least changing pads in them is a fairly simple job -
#23Well to be fair i've had these green stuff ones on months and they won't die
, so i'm pretty conservitive when it comes to breaking hard. I'd deam them dangerous to be honest, coming onto a by pass i had to slam my breaks on.. you could just hear them turning, no grip at all. Shitty pads. I think the best option would be mintex as i don't go through pads that much, but like i said i'll see how funds are closer to the time i think.

yea i had a set of greenstuff pads in my std calipers, were in for ages, lasted well, due to the fact they didnt actually work lol!
think my cheapo pads lasted about 16months, inc a trackday where there was lots of heavy high speed braking and i do alot of miles a year, so you shouldnt kill pads alot to be fair -
#25i remember you trying to tell me that you did an endo at a cruise up in lakeside a few years back ryan, with grooved and drilled discs and greenstuff pads, don't deny it

And i fried the halfrauds pads going down the hill into westerham on the country road, proper smoking haha! They're not that good, but acceptable i guess. -
#26i was informed by people at the the time that that was the case when they were watching...Quote:i remember you trying to tell me that you did an endo at a cruise up in lakeside a few years back ryan, with grooved and drilled discs and greenstuff pads, don't deny it

i only went on what i was told...
all i know is it wasnt much fun trying to avoid some div in a punto pulling out on me!
