smoking rear lights ??? help needed

   basically the guy that recently painted my car is a local lad with his own business and is a good friend now what im wondering is obviously he still has the colour he painted my car in the blue to green flip think it was a mixed primera sti or gti colour, anyways how would he go about smoking my rear lights in same colour and keep them legal.

   i think you just have to add a load of laquer to it to make it nearly transparent.

   lots of thinner. theres restrictions on the reflectors inside too, these need to be showing. although i guess you could put reflectors on your boot lid just incase

   ste used to have blue ones same as his car looked really good and you could see lightrs through them!
   
   unlike my black ones i had on my 1.1 lol
