Lowering The vts

  1. #1
Alrite guys, im thinking of gettin the vts lowered this week aswell as the other little things im doing to it. Only getting springs cos im on a budget so i guess that means ic an only lower it by 40mm? What i wanted to know is, are gmax springs any good? and how much is labouring going to cost me, if i bring the springs in with me to get them fitted?

    cheers

Generally i would stick with Spax if your on a budget and if you could strech to it go with eibach sportlines or pros up to you.

Id stay away from gmax though tbh

Doesnt mean you can only go 40mm mate, I was down 60mm on springs and didnt find the ride too bad.

Yea like said i above i know a few people on 60mm on just prings and had no problems. I would go elibach on a vts but up to you, if on a budget i wouldnt say gmax id go for PI or spax

You can go down 60 on standard shocks, but they will wear out quicker and you'll eventually need to replace them. Bets to ring around some local garages for a quote for fitting, remember that you'll need the torsion bar done too, but check they do it the proper way and not by notches.

Try and buy the best you can afford when it comes to suspension, I cut courners on my suspension and bought Pi rides not great and at some point I change so Spax would be good to go for.

Just springs doenst limit how low you can go just Id say if your going down just on springs stick to 30mm-40mm any lower and lower and a full kit with sports shocks would be idea but no the end of the world if you dont.

Look to having a lower OMP strut brace to tighten the front up their under £30 from www.rallydesign.co.uk and everybody that has one would probally recommend them.

Poly bushes would be another good upgrade over aging factory or pattern parts but again nice to have but to end of the world if you dont have them.

Worth noting that once you have had the car lowered it may take a while to settle down to its final ture ride height, when I had mine done I had to go back to the garage two days later and the fitter siad Wow thats settled down abit hasnt it. So dont be upset if it doesnt look spot on the day you have it done.
