doesnt look like it mate. the brace has only got 2 holes either end to attach to the struts. for the saxo ur gonna need 3 or 4.

    *edit*

    Yeah looks a bit weird
  4. #4
no mate that won't fit yours!
  5. #5
Would a regular OMP item that would fit say the R and S like mine below?

  6. #6
I dont see why it wouldnt?
  7. #7
OMP braces fit all saxo's, so yes
  8. #8
OMP braces do not fit Mk1s very well! It fouls on the bonnet so much it pushed mine up and creased it.

OMP for MK2s and Sparco for Mk1s
  9. #9
So what brace do Phase1 owner recommend if not OMP?
  10. #10
sparco like ColSax said. U can use an etech brace but like most people will tell u they're more for looks.

Whoops My bad, I totally over looked that comment and just read the first bit lol

A few weeks ago I saw a BMW at Brands Hatch that used a Etech alloy strut brace. Wasn't slow round the corners .

The driver had impecable hair too

    hahaha!! about the hair!

but the etec brace design from one i had in my hands didnt feel any where as strong as the omp/sparco design.

bmws are good in corners anyway.

To be perfectly honest, the Saxo doesn't need a strutbrace as the turrets are right by the baulkhead anyway.

The BMW however, there's a gooe foot between the turrets and anything structural

I dont see anything Wrong with fitting a 'Upper' Strut brace, it might be slightly more for looks than performance but whats wrong with that?

Even if it helps slightly its worth the money and normally under £50 a bargin!
The lower one makes the most sense when it comes to actulally aidding the car.

Worth mentioning Kam-Racing said to me ages ago - Most people dont have good enough Tyres or Suspension setups to push their cars fare enough for a Strut brace to do anything - or something along them lines.

I saw a bit of a improvement when I fitted mine (upper) so I was happy to spend the money and when I done my suspension I got a lower one to

Don't get me wrong, I run both and at about 60quid for the pair it's hardly a big hill of cash!

I was thinking of just buying an upper
    Ill be honest for looks..
I doubt i'll ever notice it though.
  21. #21
Probably not, but it's only 30quid.

As a side note, a mate of mine binned his 306 at the ring a couple of weeks back. The strut brace actually saved the shell, without it the strut would have ripped out the strut top and that would have been the end of the car. As it was the strut top was fine and after replacing a ball joint it drove back home
