  2. #2
If your happy with the k&n then keep it!!!

lakin abit a gettin bored try the bmc
  3. #3
all type of enclosed air filters are good (green, procomp, BMC and simota

K&N only suck in hot air so your doing good of buying a enclosed one
  4. #4
What would you recommend is the best enclosed 1 value 4 money??? and performance!!
  5. #5
well GM motorsport now has a offer for premium members

BMC enclosed for 155 pounds and thats a good deal

i self has a simota but with a green airfilter in it

Getting rid of the k&n will be the best thing you could do. I had a pipercross cone on my vts, changed it for a green enclosed. Much, much better. Car is way more responsive and sounds good to. Do it!

im wanting a green air filter any views on them? are they good?
  8. #8
I've got a K&N, sounds mint but hampers perofance, the real choice is whether to go with green forced or BMC, personally I prefer green over BMC, BMC may give the slight advantage in performance but it sounds like a hair dryer
  9. #9
Yep i think most saxo drivers have had K&N at one point and realized on a saxo these are a useless filter.

BMC, any enclosed or carbon enclosed will perform so so much better.

Email us at Sales@GSMotorsport.com and we should beat any price on the market, and if not, we can match but offer amazing customer service as most Sax_p and SSC members know

    Always happy to help

cheers guys thanks for all your feedback, think im going to go for it , just now gotta decide on either the BMC or green??
  12. #12
well here is a pic of bmc in a vtr bay and then you'll hgave to find someone with a cts to see what that looks like.

  13. #13
    now that looks sweet!!!
  14. #14
oz where abouts did you get that samco hose from and is it a kit or just one piece?
    thanks
  15. #15
The samco hose came from Forge Motorsport in gloucester craig. They do all types of hose: straight pieces, different angled bends, joiners etc. Any place that sells samco hose should be able to supply the individual pieces you need.

hey thanx sjud be able to order some bits from hafords
    cheers
  17. #17
yeah you could do that matey, they do do them, so do motorworld.

think it's a 67mm hose. We had to cut it down at either end to make it fit. Wanted a green one, but couldn't order it in.

  18. #18
is it just a straight pipe? or did u bend it? and how much did it cost roughly?
    cheers mate
  19. #19
cost me 20 wuid and it came bent.

  20. #20
hmm i have the 1.4 engine and was just wondering if the bmc is worth getting for it. what sort of hose or joiners would i need to get or are they suplied, i was also maybe thinking of a ram air from procomp waddaya think.
  21. #21
    Best thing to do..

would be get the BMC and calculate what size hose you need.. go down your local store and match it up
  22. #22
okey dokey will do matey boyo
  23. #23
so what kind of difference performance wise is there between a open and an enclosed induction kit?

also does the BMC really sound that bad?!
  24. #24
an enclosed filter , like the BMC CDA (carbon) sucks in cold air frot the front of the engine, and keeps it cold. Whereas induction kits , like Pipercross suck in hot air as they are behind the engines bulk head. And we all know that cold air is better than hot air!
  25. #25
i've had a BMC kit in my 2001 VTS for 4 months or more now and the sound is deep but not too loud - more in better tho - loads of mid range torque!!!
  26. #26
Is there a BMC enclosed, not the CDA, which looks like the Green enclosed ie with the black plastic part like the Green at the front of the car? Part number if u know?
  27. #27
i have just ordered myself a bmc induction kit for ma vtr. will i need to get a pipe for the top of ma engine?

i wanna install it as soon as it comes to the door. been waitin quite a while for it.

    cheers
  28. #28
if it comes with the correct fitting kit then you will be able to fit it straight away
  29. #29
nice one. should get it through ma door 2mo.

    cheers mate
  30. #30
I've got a Ram-Air enclosed on my VTS and it doesn't make a sound, it's well quiet, which is not what i want really! are they actually any good? will a green enclosed sound meaty or what? p.s the Ram-Air was on the car when I bought it.
  31. #31
got ma bmc through today, and it dont fit. they have sent me the universal kit not the one for ma saxo. kinda annoyed about it.
  32. #32
any1 got any sugestions? coz my car is sittin in ma driveway in bits. well no airfilter on it.
  33. #33
all BMC's are universal. Did you order one that was supposed to be for the saxo? If you did i would get on the phone to complain to who you ordered it from
  34. #34
yea i did, it says on my order confimation that it is for a saxo vtr. i will phone and complain soon. at uni at the mo.

    cheers mate
  35. #35
what doesn't fit about it chap ?
  36. #36
im missin the reducer pipe to go between the box and the throttle body.i can fit the front pipe and the box/cylinder but i dont have any way to join it to the engine.

the company i ordered it from said that i am missin bits when i sent them an email detailin wat i had.
should get the new parts through 2mo.

    that make any sense?
  37. #37
yeh it does mate. When i bought mine, i had to get a separate silicon hose (90 degree bend) to attach to the throttle body.
  38. #38
cool mate. did u order the universal kit?

coz i ordered one to fit ma vtr. so it should have come with right bits. i think.
