#2wide arch kit?
you mean the dimma wide arch kit kit, or what?
dimma kita are lovely jobs, super wide arches
-
#3saxo dimma has standard arches...
f2 kit from cituning
street specials kit (if you can find one) -
#4maxi kit is what you want
-
#5f2 kit from cituning is the nicest "wide arch" kit i've seen on a saxo, i wonder why they didn't create a maxi kit for a saxo, as in the 106 dimma one!
-
#6the street spaecials kit im looking at getting
-
#7www.cituning.ltd.uk they do like mentenioned the best Maxi F2 style kit on the market and Citroen UK commissioned them to make Saxos and C2s to put on show across the country at dealerships and car shows.
There are a few other Jap style kits that are wide arched but they are slightly harder to come buy, the Carzone kit has slightly wider arches and with beefen up any saxo. -
#8The cituning kit is all wrong..
The front arches aren't high enough or wide enough..the front bumper is wrong, comes with sideskirts even though the kit cars didnt have them..

Thats the proper kit car bodykit..the one which i almost bought..
The kit cars have standard looking VT* front and rear bumpers..same fog light cutouts and lower grill etc, just has flared arches..
Here's a Kit Car..

Here's a standard car..

At the end of the day, rallying is mainly a marketing excersise to sell cars..so the kit cars look near enough the same as the road cars..The only reason why wide arches are used is to have slightly wider track and more suspension travel.. -
#9Even if its not 100% right its better than some of the Jap style wide arch kits with 'Fly Catcher' front bumpers and 'Supra Style' sideskirts.
The Carzone kit is pretty wide but doesnt look very nice.
Unless you have loads of money then Id leave Wide arch kits where they are . . . Collecting dust on shelfs somewhere
For the money youd spend on a wide kit you could improve your Saxos chassis and engine making the car altoghther more enjoyable to use. -
#10I've seen some saxos with nuts kits on in a few rally events, really big wide arches and big wide wheels, why cant u buy those kits

Or the DTM style kits for those saloon cars, would love to have one of those
-
#11like the highlander there can be only one! The s1600 kit car bodywork is the best and its steel so it will survive a few knocks.Quote:The cituning kit is all wrong..

if done properly the wide track will help the handlingQuote:

sorry I ment save your money buy not buying a Wide arch kit and invest it into the chassis and make the car better on the move rather than sitting still, after all you can only look at it when its parked
Like when Connor was talking about the Dimma kit both him and me included didnt know you where sposed to widen the track when fitting a kit that size.
So its safe to say most people dont either.
Wide arch kit could turn into a money pit
-
#13I was gona do it and use the same setup as bics car is running, total was going to be 3k..
-
#14Anyone got a link to actually buy the s1600 kit, or am I just being stupid? Pmsl.
-
#15There is a proper maxi kit, cant find a decent picture but its white with green
-
#16Here you go... CLICKYQuote:Anyone got a link to actually buy the s1600 kit, or am I just being stupid? Pmsl.
If you can get anything out of them, you will be very lucky as the Saxo is not supported anymore by the factory team. The UK Citroen Sport company has gone bust, so no chance there either.
As James said earlier, it is very difficult to get the genuine arch kit, and expect to pay a fortune if you can find one. The rear spoiler for a S1600 is approx £1400 plus vat!
Front lower wide track arms are approx £1700 and there is 3 different rear beams to choose from. If you are interested, I have the build manuals and can give you the link to download them. -
