Tip to have a "little bit" more of power

This a little tip for persons that don’t have problems with electric things.
One fact that conditions the engine power, are the losses inside de engine and outside of it. In side of it we can’t do much to solve this, but outside of it there are several things that can be easily done. One example of this is the water pump. It doesn’t seem too much, but is one start. To solve this problem, we can change the normal mechanic pump by an electric one.
The other thing that reduces power is the alternator. It seems that there is nothing to do in an alternator, but there is. We can use the same technique that is used in competition. In competition they simply shut down the alternator. Why no do the same but in a clever way?
    This is a simple system:

Now we can turn off or on when we want using this simple circuit:

i had often thought about the alternator part... is this not what the freepowr unit from GMC was supposed to do?

Yeh thats the theory behind GMC's freepowr

Except GMC''s unit automatically cuts off the alternator when your at full throttle

The way shown above would be the best way, as you can simply choose for yourself. I've heard about the water pump, it's a good way to gain as much as 2 - 4 BHP I've heard... Nice one Stevcatristicas!

Its like having a total loss ignition system.

Just think, on most supercharged top fuel drag cars, it takes 800bhp to drive the supercharger (GMC on top if manifold style)

If you didnt have these belts on a road car, i.e alternator you could gain a fair bit!

the water pump is a good idea but the alternator can be a bit tricky is not run from a poper system like the gmc one.

your still turning the alternator over tho so some energy is still beinf used like colsax is saying i think.. some gains but for wht it's worth?? not sure.

It all takes energy from the crank to pull these belts around. Energy = Horsepower ( or whatever lol )

Well, on a road car its not worth it imo!!! lol
