VTS 0-60 6 seconds?

  1. #1
    Hi all,

I dont know what a VTS is 0-60 standard thinkits around the 8 second mark not sure!

Was just wondering how much would you have to spend on the engine etc to get the 0-60 down to 6 seconds because that would be so quick

    Cheers

    6.9 iirc!

    alot...

you would probably have to CAM it to get the accelration up!

or use a smaller ratio Gbox

depends as what you do to a vts, i mean mine is stripped and with breather mods i would like to think my vts is 0-60 in 7.2 but would need to get it tested to fit out for sure.

dunno think about it lighter mean faster so surely my 0-60 should be better? i dunno as i am happy with standard but would be interesting?

    get it RRed then!

if s Turbo saxo is doing it in 5.5secs then it sjust shows how much needed to get it to 6 seconds

pauley ran a 6.9 with a stripped vts, cage, omp group n and a green enclosed IIRC

Thank you thought there is a way with out turbo.

    not 6 seconds! tho!

and the above figure is a bit optomistic imo

I think 6 seconds would be quite hard unless you had RWD or 4WD. Even with 400bhp its till going to be hard to put it all down just through the front wheels even with a diff!

I know it says it does 5.5 seconds, but what method did he use to prove this figure?

i wouldnt use FCS figures mate, they are usually very wrong lol! infact id go as to day hand timing is more accurate from reading stuff in the past.

    In Portugal is 8.7…

It depends… It depends of the tires gip, it depends of the track, it depends of the gearbox, it depends of the weight, it depends of de driver technique, it depends of the veracity of the speedometer, etc…

I did this a few weeks ago before the S1 rallye box went in. I know it's a pitiful way of measuring a 0 - 60mph time, but you can at least get a rough idea. I've used a stopwatch on it, and I've got it around 5.5 seconds. You can also note that the speedo is accurate, as I hit the limiter in 2nd at 66mph roughly @ 7800 rpm.

Was just checking my service boot and i found another document advertising mk2's. Its citroens spec sheet it puts the Mk2 VTS down as 7.7 seconds 0-62mph.

So i'd say parkers figures are the ones i'd go with if you wanna bet with textbook figures. 7.5/7.6 secs 0-60.

LOL! The camera was bluetack`d to the dash!

I think that was around 3 - 3.5k. I was having all sorts of trouble stopping the fronts from spinning. If I could launch in at around 6k and ease the clutch properly, I could get a better start. I shall practice!

I was so amazed that I did not spin it that time, I actually let up slightly on the gas, if you listen carefully, you can hear it close to the beginning.

standard boxes are the same, standard car is the same weight, book figures are the same for the vts's....
