Do you guys keep up the service history with the citroen garages for m.o.t.s etc. and if u do, do citroen ever say anything about engine mods or anything?

cause i got advised by a friendd that i should take the air filter off and put the airbox back on for the m.o.t i was just wondering??

I take my car where it is the best price and you can keep you air filter on as long as it don't void your warrenty if you have any on your car.

Citroen are an absolute rip-off when it comes to servicing. 3rd service for a vts and they wanted £300! Severnside did a great job on it for £90. Citroen often use mods as an excuse for other problems that crop up. When my instrument pod played up they tried to blame it on the induction kit!

Certain mods can cause problems during mots, but thats usually big rims rubbing on the arches etc.

if ur tryin to keep up the service history then you have to go to a Citroen approved garage. Or go to someone who deals with Citroen , or french cars because then atleast they have an understanding of those vehicles.

mines had 2 Citroen MoT's whilst being modded (lowered 40mm on spax adjustables, powerflow full system & K&N induction) and they've not mentioned anythin about them or it voiding the warranty, although it probably would if anything serious was to happen..

the only prob I had was them passin it with 16's on, I took my 14's down and told em to change em, which they did free of charge, they then passed it

soon after I got back I checked the oil...as u do when it gets back from a service, found that the plastic lug (only on mk2 dipsticks) had de-laminated and come off makin it imposs for me to take a readin, I blamed this on shitroen and they ordered 1 in and replaced it free of charge under warranty (they didn't admit that they had done it)

My car is due its third service shortly. Ive always gone to a Citroen garage but im thinking about just sending it too my local garage this time to save some dollars. Only thing that bothers me is getting the trip computer reset Citroen told me that only they could do this. Is this true? R they takin the piss??

You can do that yourself mate. Should be in your handbook somewhere. Just gotta follow what it says, i've done mine the last couple of times.

Didnt know that mate. Thats decided then the car wont be going to the dealer for next service. Shitroen were obviously trying to squeeze some punds out of me
