Engine swap vtr black top to silver top

   Im sorry if this has already been asked just the search button wont load.
   
   Im going to swap my vtr black top engine with a silvertop engine out of a donor car.
   Will the loom and ecu be different? will i encounter any problems with electrics/wiring ect???
   
   Any input will be greatly appreciated

   Go for a 16v lump instead...

   Ones 90bhp i think and ones 98bhp depending upon the year i think.
   
   But i would advise as said about sell your engine and put the money towards a vts/gti lump.

   my black top is about to die! i have a silver top in my garage, and im not paying for a vts lump, im just going to buy a vts next year.

   im sure you may have to change the loom, check to see how many plugs there are on the ecu. there is a useful thread somewhere on this, try and search
