Just bought these for £30 and was wondering if they would be ok for the drag strip? Bit of an impulse buy really but for £30 if they are no good i can always sell them on.

No. For the road you have to have a min of 17% cut tred.

There not really drag strip rubber but they could be used if they don’t rub. Your best to go get a super soft set of drag racing AVO’s or something like that for 1/4 mile work

what compound are they and what did they come off?
  10. #10
Not sure what they came of, and i'm not sure that the guy i bought them of will although he did say that they were a really soft compound. But like i said they are an impulse buy and i thought for £30 they are cheap?

So if they are of a soft compound will i get any benefit of running them or am i just waisting my time?

    Thanks for all your advice

you need a soft compound for drag strips as you need to get heat in quickly and also they have more grip. Its just if they are off something like a formula3 car then the tyrewall construction is different and they will not be good for track use on a road derived car
