   I was just curious to know if there is much of a drop in power over a few years??
   
   Ie, Standard VTS engine + BMC induction kit + scorpion cat back exhaust + 10 years = how many horses lost???

   like is there much point in getting a 97 reg vts if an 01 reg vtr will be faster?

   depends how the vehicle has been looked after...
   
   if its had a hard life then hp could be down - chances are it will have. same if its had crappy oil's used.

   a good condition motor should be running 125 ish, i'd think that one would be running 120 or just short, definatley quicker than a vtr.

   Wont drop much at all if its been looked after i.e warmed up and decent oil used etc..
   
   106 rallye on the register for sale..219k and still producing standard bhp..
   
   High powered/highyly tuned engines are likely to drop alot of power over the years but a reasonably standard car shouldnt if looked after correctly.

   If you keep it well serviced and keep the needle away from the limiter then your keep what you got for a long time to come, most engines probally need a good head recon around the 100k to go on putting out good power figure after the 100k mark, if I still got mine between 95k-100k I'll probally have my head reconditioned just for good measure.
   
   On the whole its always hard to say for sure what a engine is putting out even straight out the factory bhp figures will vary slightly. Plus its worth pointing out that even rolling road figures should be taken with a pinch of salt and should be taken as a ruff figure

    If its the car im thinking of dont buy it.What mileage is it?
