getting too hot?

    im not sure if this is normal, but on my vtr the temperature gauge sits at just over half way when driving along and goes up to around the 3/4 mark when in traffic etc but the fan does kick in and bring it down again. im just wondering if this is normal, cheers.

    Sounds fairly normal, though my VTS sits just below half. Maybe time for a coolant swap and some fresh oil?

    yeah sounds about right mines was the same when i first got it
    but runs about a tiny bit over halfway now

    thats a bit of reliefe lol was starting to get a bit scared especialy with hotter weather on the way

    dont worry about it mate, mine always goes up when sitting in traffic, fan comes on and brings it right down

    Like mentioned it might be worth if you dont know when it was last done and most people dont,

    Changing all the water in the system, flush out the system, change the thermostat as they do have a habit of getting stuck and besides they are only about £12 from main dealer and then refilling with fresh water and coolant.

    Also check for air blocks in the cooling system as even little ones can cause a cahnge in running temps and is worth bleeding the system once in a while just to be on the safe side.
