Exhaust Ideas POST #21 UPDATE

  1. #1
ok im coming to a crossroads about the design of my motor mobile.

Need ideas on what to do with my exhaust:
The one in the photos now scrapped but need something to get it to stop sounding like a lawnmower

Not bothered about performance as its purely a show car sporting less litres than a multipack of cola.

has anyone got pictures of any exhaust systems that have the exhausts either:
    - hidden away completely
    - sideways (so you see the can but not the muzzle)
    - those bike exhaust conversions you see.

    Cheers. rep always available

    Keep it simple Remmyboy!!!!!!!!!

    sideways = gay
    motorbike exhausts = gay

hidden away could be a good shout, what about side exit? coming out the drivers side?
  4. #4
    Sell it.....buy a trannyvan.....

Rem will be on crimewatch pretty soon

    Correct!

One of the lastes Performace French Cars had a hidden exhaust on their 172. It made good power. Was a custome jobbie. Think it was made by Jansport. Not 100% though.

well this is my rear end before the bodyshop:

Now imagine it all in gun metal grey and lower and you get the idea.

I just think that this cannon on the back looks rather gay and chavvy.

Any ideas on what we can do to smarten it up?

Flame kit and it might as well be the old school batmobile

How about a custom quad one? OR mesh the gap off and have a hidden one?

    twin centre box?

sideways can in the gap of bumper.

fairplay but thought you were going off the chav image?
  11. #11
if your keeping that bumper you need either a sideways can or a twin centre box to avoid the cannon look.
  12. #12
3 exhausts!! that fill the gap

the only carbon ive seen chavs use is that sticky on shit for mirriors and handbrake handles.

if i hide the exhaust. im left with a gap

Go with the hidden option. It's the future.

Multi packs of coke come in 6s, which is a 2.0lire anyway. More than any saxo pretty much

had a mate photo shop a carbon exhaust on really quickly

and with more of it hidden:

and he did another with two exhausts on:

The gap i have is only the width of a number plate.

and i dont think they're fit.
It'd just look like ive rammed drainage pipes in there to fill up the space

So far i think the half hidden sideways carbon can is the best look.

Please bear in mind the car is being respray gun metal grey to tone things tone and i think the carbon will look good next to this

get a big letterbox one made thats fills the whole gap..

erm on a serious note.. quite like the twin exit
  25. #25
Im not saying buy from there but, why not have a look on www.essexracing.com as they hold a massive stock of different style rear cans and universal back boxes.

Have a look see what styles you like then either buy from there or sourch from somewhere else.
  26. #26
i have to say im feeling the more hidden carbon can and the dual exit

looks nice if your keeping that bumper
  27. #27
yeah im relly liking the hidden one.

just waiting for someone to photo shop my car to gun metal grey to see the real results
  28. #28
the bike can will be best for that bumper mate
  29. #29
Get another splitter and use some mesh mate

    Lush

    Tidy

    Sexual

All else fails get a new bumper and do it right

thats nice and all but i want something different.

cars come out the factory with a bit of pipe poking out.
  31. #31

I know what u mean but that jet engine exhaust aint nice imo

Just keep the downpip and rest of the exhaust good eg BTB and other good systems then a nice, possibly sutble rear can like mine, or larger/different that fits in well with the overall style of the car.

Cant remeber who it was on here but they had two HUGE cans sticking out of the back to be 'different' and it looked gash

I can remember Carisma (Jamie Shaw who now does all the Pimp my ride UK cars) when he was doing decent stuff and not the rubbish he does today, done a Renault 5 GTturbo with two 3' or 4' pipes coming up throught the Floor pan at the back of the car then having a 90' angle so they exited Throught the Number Plate resease in the Hatch and that looked amazing.

Wouldnt work on the 106 as the boot is flush but extra brownie points will be given for thinking out side the box
