Oil leak

    right, i've found where the leak is coming from,


    it's the filter housing where it bolts to the sump, what sealer do i use to fix this, any in particular?

    Do VTRs have the same 'screw on' oil filters as the 106 GTIs? If so, it might not be on properly, or, the rubber gasket on the filter might be damaged. I won't say any more, just in case your car doesn't use the 'screw on' oil filter! Hehe.

    it's not the acutal filter thats leaking.


    it's where the "neck" bolts to the engine/sump.

    i've just rang citroen and they're finding out what i need, so it should be sorted by 2moro hopefully.

    i'm not sure, i know the early mk2 vtr's had different oil filter set ups to my later mk2 !!

    Its basically a similar seal to that you get on the older style metal oil filter.

    I think they brought out the element filters in 2001. All TU's have the same oil filter before, and after the mod.
