206GTi Brakes - Where do they Need Grinding and how much?

  1. #1
    Hi guys,

Just got my 206GTi Callipers from WilliamsVTS the other day and he didnt have time to grind them down, he has marked them but Im unsure as to how much to take off.

Could somebody post pic's or detailed instructions on what/where/how much has to be grinded off.

Just I dont want let my mechainic do it as all the time messing about with grinding abit, then fitting, then taking abit more off, then refitting etc etc he will just add to my bill so, any help would be greatly welcomed

    Be a massive help, thanx

    Take off quite alot!!

Williams didnt grind mine enough so had to take some more off..just offer it up to the strut are where it should go and keep grinding until it doesn't touch..Mines a very tight fit and does touch the strut but all is ok..

    Those brakes are awesome too

My car can outbrake soo much stuff on track its mental.

Sorry i dont have any pics showing where to grind them but as he has marked it out just keep grinding until it will fit..You will have to put it up against the strut though.

    Hope this helps..

Are those 206GTi items or bigger GTi6 items.

What is it they will catch on if they are not grinded and can I take off too much?

What as in when on my car or what williams supplied me with?

As for on the car i was amazed..only really noticed a difference on track when heavy braking..could outbrake soo much stuff was funny in the end.lol..Also outbroke a golf GTI the other day into a roundabout..We wont go there though as i will get ass raped by people on here who believe they are the internet police..

As for williams's service etc was spot on..didnt hold the "progress" of my car up at all even though i had to wait for a couple of weeks for the discs and pads to come. One of the calipers needed a good sorting out though as in cleaning up and painting but its all done now and painted and are like new..

Yer my Callipers have turned up first and really need a good clean up, Im lucky to have a metal dept where I work so I can get my mate to dip the callipers in a hot tamk to clean them then I'll paint them afterwards.

Just waiting on my Discs and Pads now.
