would the 106 simota induction kit fit to the saxo vtr?

would any of you no if the scoop entrance is abit bigger thn green cotton and racelands?

    cheers

I think the Saxo's slam panel is flat, whereas the 106's is all curvey, so it wouldn't meet up nicely at all.

Don't get that kit anyway, it's not very good, as the box is plastic, and the pipe is steel. Terrible for keeping the heat out!

its pretty much the same as a raceland induction kit, but its made for a 106. Id just get one for your specific car

Yer, like mentioned above the 106 has a very different slam panel compaired to the Saxos slam panel.

www.kam-racing.com will be able to sell you the correct item for your car also they will be able to uprage the cone inside to a Green item for a extra cost.

and really dont worry about the material. Plastic is a poor conductor of heat and the air will be moving so fast through the pipe that it will not heat up significantly. Your throttle body and inlet manifold is alloy anyway...

We will have a big delivery of raceland induction kits next week as Raceland ran out..

The ecosse ones are fiber glass boxing and Samco hosing aren't they?

    They are, yes.

im sure if its a big worry of conductin heat you could wrap exhaust heat wrap around it?

I mentioned that to somebody the other week when somebody asked about could materials lose or gain bhp in an induction setup and I said well basically yes, if you use metal its gona get hot and raise induction temps over a long period.

But really I wouldn imagin Heat Wrap would be needed unless you was say running a turbo but then thats what intercoolers and charge coolers are for so you could use it but not sure it would do much

if heat conduction was a major issue then standard and aftermarket throttlebodies and inlet materials would be all plastic etc, but they are not because they do not need to be. The air moves fast through the induction so will pass unaffected because of its poor thermal conduction properties. It will be more affected if hot air is being drawn into your induction via an open cone filter. Even plastic is a poor conductor so you neednt worry about the enclosed filter not being carbon too.
Even when your car is idle the only hot contact the metal induction pipe has is through the air in the engine bay - which is still a poor conductor too.

Get an enclosed system and you really do not need to worry about heat. Leave the heatwrap on your exhaust :d

thanks for all the help guys

also my saxo is mk2 so has plastic inlet.

but would the 106 simota scoop fit on a vtr? does anybody no what filter they come with?

or is it worth getting a raceland? just abit botherd about the vts logo

Id just get a raceland mate, otherwise you run the risk of buying a kit that will really need lots of modiifcatins to get it to fit or look right. Remember its under your bonnet anyway
