are these brembos a good buy?

thats the only decent picture of them that will load up.

    from the seller :-

'Brembo 4 pot brake kit (pads, discs, calipers, mounting brackets, braided hoses)
Am seriously considering selling my Brembo 4 pot brake kit but am just testing the water realy, the kit is still fitted to the car at the moment.

The kit has been fitted for just under 2 years and has covered approx 12k miles, like most brembo's these do squeek at times, usualy under light gradual braking but not under harder braking, this seems very common for Brembo 4 pots to do this.

The kit uses 285x26mm discs (plain) and brembo pads, also inclueded are the nec mounting brackets and goodridge braided hoses , the discs are part worn as are the pads but I can supply a spare set of pads.

There are some scuffs and chips to the paint work which I will try to get pics of if required but nothing too serious.'

for £300. is this a bargin?

Its about right, it's not a bargain. Check condition of dust seals as they go after a few years

i knew they went for well over a grand, but i didnt know whether or not these where the ones off the pug 406 coupre(or is it 409?) which if that was the case, 300 is a bit high
  9. #9
Good point. I wonder what the difference is then...?
  10. #10
it would be handy to know what the difference is, ive searched but cant find owt, does anybody know? also how to tell the difference maybe?
  11. #11
    Hi guys

Im the one selling these, they are not off of a 406 and dont mount directly to the struts as the 406 Brembo's do, they are radial mount calipers so fit to the mounting brackets supplied.

The dust seals are currently undamaged. I've had them fitted under my Speedline Turini's without spacers and under 15in O.Z Superleggera's with 3mm spacers on top of the usual O.Z spacers that bring them down from the ford offset.

Im selling as I require smaller calipers to fit under a new set of wheels that I have recently purchased, im not happy about having to sell them tbh but it has to be done
  12. #12
    did you buy them new?
  13. #13
Yes, the calipers were new when I fitted them and have covererd approx 12,000 miles in just under 2 years. Plenty of meat left on the discs, wear indicator visable on the pic above, pads approx 65-70% worn but with a new set supplied aswell, inclueding Goodridge braided hoses and all fittings, I advertised them for £350 + p&p ono on SSC and Rallye register, would have put them on here to but need 50 posts 1st

These are still officially available btw

hi mate, i was just bout to email ya.
  15. #15
get some more pis up me like... these fit on a 1.1 under 16's?
  16. #16
The £1500 Brembo kits come with alloy bells and floating disks so was probably half that price new. Still a good buy though thats for sure
  17. #17
    What's a floating disk?
  18. #18
So where are those Brembos from then if not a 406 & not one of the brembo saxo kits?

Also Cammed_Spencer was a lucky f*ck to get his that price, they usually go for £200+

    thats some tricky shit.

i knew they did them on mtbikes. they prevent some of the brake fade dont they?
  21. #21
Its to allow them to expand without distorting in shape when they get rather hot
  22. #22
    I see, thanks for that.
