polised rocker cover

   i want 2 polish my rocker cover 2 a mirror like finish,at the moment its painted grey,what should i use 2 get the paint off?and how do i polish it once the paint is off?

   not sure if you can polish VT rocker covers mate, however you can get them chromed
   
   you can try though, all them nooks and crannies will be hard to sand and polish up though
   
   nitromors to get the paint off
   use a 80 grit to start then work your way to a 1500 grit paper
   use a polishing kit if you can afford it then followed by some autosol and rags
   if not some rags and some autosol should get it up to a polished surface, just make sure the surface is really smooth
   spend most of the time sanding it, the more you do the better it will come up

   you can polish them as i have done this to my vtr rocker. i used a polishing kit brought from machine mart and stuck it on my power drill and buffed the metal using autosol for polishing compound. worked fine for me

   chroming will be expensive around £100+ so i would rather polish - will cost about 20-30 on parts

   polishing stuff will cost you about 40 - 80 depending on if you get a polishing kit and if you already have some stuff
   
   once you start you can do the ECU too thats if it hasnt got a cover on it, also do the wheels if your feeling up to it

   i got my polishing kit for £15, autosol for £3 and wet+dry for £3 ish, £5 for nitromorse. thats all the parts i needed to polish my rocker cover. aslong as you have a power drill it shouldnt cost you much

   how do i remove the grey paint that is on my rocker cover a the moment?do i need 2 strip it down 2 the bare metal 2 be able 2 polish it?

    have you read the guide properely? you use nitromorse to strip the paint off to bare metal then you can sand and polish the rocker

    nitromors, just dab it on dont brush it on, then use a wire brush on a drill and lightly go over it, do it a few times to get it all off
