Sprayed my grill. Pics step by step.

  1. #1
I took my grill off as it was a weird shade of sun damaged grey, pictures basically talk for them selves:

Took grill off and poped badge off

    Sanded down

    Primed

    Sprayed

    then laqued

    Then put back together.

    What do you think?

ok mate it wouid look much better if it was meshed but it looks better then it did lol

that looks spot on mate! bit different from being meshed, like it, and the badges look cool too, nice one

What grade sandpaper did you use buddy? that looks really coarse for what you were trying to achieve.. have you not been left with surface scratches?

Looks good though suits the car no end
Now do your headlights and fogs

yea going to do headlights tomorrow if weathers nice, make it all stelthy lol, i used 120 i fink the finish is really nice i only had to sand the first layer of primer to get a good base than sprayed a second primer, then 3 layers of paint then 2 lacquer. perfect finish.

Ideally bud you should have been using 1200 not 120 or at least working down to 1200 grit...as all you need to do is key the surface... and that will leave scratch lines... but i guess with black they aren't all that obvious...

i fort you was ment to take the top layer off, the glossy bit.

1200 would take the glossy bit off.. that is simply a surface coat.. and build up of any cleaning products you have on it..

Don't worry about it buddy... it looks great on the pictures... just for future reference, like when prepping your headlight inserts you don't need to go that coarse

looks good mate, but as alex said, using 120 grit the finish wont be as good unless you applyed a load of primer to fill the imperfections, ideally you should of finished with a 1200 grit
