#7I have a full magnex system on my vtr and is is quite quite, has a nice tone when moving higher up through the rev range, but its still not very loud. Have a seach on here or you tube for some sound clips.

and will generaly be slightly louder than the factory system through out the rev range, If I was to go for a Magnex system Id want to go for a single box setup ie remove the centre box to give a better note, but Im not a Magnex fan so . . .

#15If you are looking for a quite system Id always point people in the direction of Janspeed over Magnex just because the Magnex box looks poor.
If you have your heart set on the Magnex then Id go for just a Magnex back box and a Remus or SuperSprint straight through centre section to improve both performance and exhaust note, decatting is another option but you will have to reinstall the cat for the MoT.

#16i had the abp unsilenced magnex(only backbox) for a while got ridin the end as the car didnt feel right, torque seemed down.
eventually got a proper one with the silencer and its much better, feels more eager to move and the tone is a lot better not too raspy and tinny like it did befor
not too loud on tickover but its very meaty when giving it the beans. but i also have a raceland manifold too -
#17Like I said its always to recommend exhaust and airfilters etc as different people have had different results with different items.
I strongly recommend getting what you like the look of that way your be happy with it from the strat and any performance gains will simply be an added bonus

got de-cat pipe to fit, mine has popped a few times just with that set up, not too loud either but sounds good when open her up.
didnt notice a difference performance wise when fitted, been advised only get its full potential if de-cat it!
And on the last three videos thats from when i had not properly fitted it, it was sliding off as i bust the thread on the clamp

had my magnex system on the car for bout two years now,never had any problems wi it,not too loud when your drivin normally but give it some stick and it sounds nice!!!

#27ye i thought it made a fair difference although i did stick a enclosed cotton green filter on at the same time,am hopin once i get the manifold on too it ll be even quicker off the mark again.

#30I just got mine fitted today! Its pretty quiet with the standard middle section with the silencer. Got abit louder as the day went on. Sounds quiet then gives a roar over 3000. Perfect!

#35I like a exhaust to be noisey, thats just the way I like it thats one of the main reasons I got rid of my Janspeed cat back system as it was just too quiet (for my liking).
But the main problem with the Magnex in my eyes anyway is just the look of it, box is to big, pipe sticks out to far and generally the way it hangs too.
But thats ok cos I like different things to other people. -

#37Each to their own as most people with a Magnex exhaust would run a mile from a GroupN style exhaust like mine

But thats what makes Saxp such a great place as there are so many likes and dislikes yet everybody still gets on, Ive been on some sites where if you have got the best of the best on the best model then your pushed out and made to be unwelcome, not here

Still prefered my magnex to the piper system I had on the vts but would still buy either again. -

#41ok great! are these easy too fit as i have the whole system what does it go 2 the downpipe or the cat? do i not need 2 replace anyother parts etc also is it 3.5" and its all 1 size?

#42Just finished fitting mine the main problem was the join between the back of the cat and the start of the midbox.... had to get a special clamp for it and some shit look alike exhaust putty.... got it on exhaust is well quiet but sounds quite nice when floored... no moe rattles n that took a couple hours in total coz i'm slow and didn't have the right bits first time around...
pleased with end result sounds good now
