  1. #1
I have a big problem....i have a 1997 blacktop vtr that needed a new engine so i bought a 1998 silvertop engine....The mechanic changed things over due to different connections....but i the fuel injectors of the old engine will not fit onto the new engine!! the new fuel injectors have a 5 pin plug and the old one has a 2 pin plug! therefore the old one needed to be used! but the mechanic says they will not fit into the head!! if this does not work i have lost a lot of money and the car i love! please help!!!!

    Thanks

no i bought a 98 silvertop because i was told it would fit qithout too much trouble....called the mechanic today though and ditched the attempt of getting the fuel injectors from the 97 blacktop onto the silvertop! going to see another blacktop tomorrow!

Should just get a new car!

    Price List:
    £200 silvertop engine (didnt fit)
    £200 labour
    £100 blacktop engine
    £100 fitting

    Job total = £600

Saving up for a VTS now and a newer one at that!

it should fit! without a problem mate, i think possibly your mechanics could be trying to pull a fast one???

says ecu and all the wiring is different.

This mechanic wouldent pull fast one he is a friend of the family and very experienced. but then again a lot of people on sax-p said that it should fit in! so i just dont know.

hmm not sure then, my silver stop has the same ecu as a black top engine and ive run it like that so know for a fact the ecu's shouldn't be a problem.

If he is a family friend then cant really fault his work there but prehaps you should get him to ring shitroen and find out how to solve the problem

he rang the local citroen garage and they said do not go near it! so i really cant work it out! personally i thought it would drop in easy!
