Bodywork

  1. #1
Firstly this is my first post having waited ages and finnally got me a sweet 1.6VTR last week, I decided to join here with the other fellow Saxo mean machine drivers!

Anyway the car I've picked up is a decent looking one except it has a number of general scratches/dents/chips and scuffs. Its not in a any mass amount just darted all around the vehicle/bodykit and bonnet vent.
I was just wondering what sort of random price I would be looking at to get a bodyshop place to touch these up for me?

There are loads of places popping up that will repair small scuffs and stone chips as most body shops wont want to take the time and go round touching little bits up they will more likely want to dust over the areas completly with fresh paint driving the price up.

Have a look in your local yellow pages or thompsons and small ads to see whats out there, it still might be worth talking to a body shop or two just to compare prices.

As for prices themselves, alot will depend on how much work needs doing, colours and where you have it done so its pretty hard to say, allow for at least upto £100 but dont be suprised if it quotes come in at more.

You maybe lucky and they maybe able just to 'Mop' the paint work and take alot of it out, but without see how bad it is its very hard to say.

    Hope that helps

Do you have any pics of the dents/knocks/chips?

Your best bet would be to approach a few local bodyshops and see what quotes you get. Play them off against one another.

    Where are you from?

Thanks for the info, Probably gonna go round this saturday round a few of the local bodyshops and see what the damage would be.
