well yeah got a mk1 VTR! all standard looks a bit iffy! wanna change the way it looks, tempted with diff alloys i have 16s on her at the mo and yeah would like to change them to maybe some nice 15s any ideas? what looks good on a blue saxo? would you sya lowering? dont want it tooo low alrdy had a car that was too low and coulnt do ne thing with it lol! so yeah just some ideas? tempted to mesh up the front grill where the fog lights are and maybe the front mask part? any1 got a guide how to take the front bit apart?

so yeah maybe photoshop my car
here are some pics so far
any1 got some pics of the front of the car with mesh? 15 alloys and lowered?

    thanks

imo u should lower it about 40mm, put some vtr or vts alloys on and remove those lexarse lights and burn them

Its all there it just needs tiding up mate.

The first thing you need to deside is whether you want a sutble styled car ie mostly factory items but with a few choice mods that blend in with the car or do want a very in your face car with big mods like aftermarket kits and bigger wheels?

The choice is yours, kitted cars tend to look rather dated these days unless they are done very well and carefull selected wheels and body mods are bought regardless of cost.

If it was mine Id keep it simple and clean.

1st replace the Lexus lights with Ultra Smoked Jewls as they are probally the classest aftermarket lights out there. www.cituning.ltd.uk do these for under £70

Next look to maybe some Black Angle eye or Projector headlights to freshen up the face of your saxo, these do come in chrome as well but Black will look more upto date and agreesive. www.essexracing.com do these as do www.cituning.ltd.uk

A badgeless grill with Black mesh will also add to the agressive look to the front of the car, look to www.tuning.co.uk/vauxshop or www.cituning.ltd.uk for these.

Standard VTS 15' alloys painted Gloss Black will compliment the Black headlights and rear lights nicely and will give the car that real street racer look. 15' rims offer the best in terms of performance/handling and looks.

Replace the large exhaust with a slightly smaller Piper 3' outwardly rolled back box from www.speedbox.co.uk

(this is a Janspeed 3' Inwardly rolled system but the smaller tailpipe suits the car better and will also sit better than the item on the car currently)

That should really freshen up the looks of your Phase1. Thats my persoanly opinion as that is the look which currently best suits saxos both in Phase1 and Phase2 models.

    Hope that helps

ok i have had a aftermarket kitted up car before! a mk1 punto loved her
    hehe

but wanta more cleaner car now so only going for a few prime time items to mod the car with

ok yeah i wanna look for some 15" alloys dont know what tho! i like the idea of the black alloys but dont know about vtr/vts ones :s

the front drivers side light points down and really annoys me not the light but the way it sits with the bonnet and front bumper! all around the front of the car where the front bumper connects there is a slight gap, dont think its ment to be there but had the bumper off and cant seem to get the gap to go!!!! ahhhhhhhhhhhh check the pic of the front of my car......

i think the idea of this, as mine is missing bits at the end under a lighter where it has snapped off so could use this to replace it???

    http://www.tuning.co.uk/vauxshop/media/C0120200.jpg

also need a replacement passenger side front VT arch in possi blue so thats a thing

yeah looking at the front black lights but i dont know if new lights will sort the problem with the front, think its going to have to be a new front panel so it lines up better sadly - is that right?? dont know if i want the chrome or the black ones? think ill go for the chrome not sure about the rear lights, yeah change the lexarse but wanna try keep the whole chrome fresh look

zorst - i rly like the twin exit ones - a zorst on each side of the rear bumper i think looks sexy! ne1 got ne pics of that??
  5. #5
i think keep it simple. some charcoal black vts alloys and then lower 40mm ish and thats already a step in the right direction. the black alloys with the blue looks quality! then loose those lights and massive exhaust.
  6. #6
also i wanna change the front and rear bumper to have ones with the black bump strip! can you get them as standard? or will i have to paint/mod the one i have?

main things is the front of the car the head light and the gap between lights and front bumper!!! ahhhhhh

its totally up to you mate, everbody on here will say vts alloys and lower 40mm. id go for some whit alloys mate as they nice ona posi blue saxo, get some standar rear lights, and go as low as you feel practical but i think saxos look best slammed.

you can go lower than 40mm then mate, but its up to you, is it practical (speed bumps and that) the whhels are quite nice mate and would look better once lower, its a nice looking car with potential.

yeah think the lowest i will go is 40mm, think 30/35mm will be fine

so yeah now need to fuind me some spring, would you say just springs are going to be needed? dont going to need shocks and bits??

ne ideas about the bumpers with the black strip want all blue ones
  13. #13
if your going no lower than 40mm mate id just get springs, im down 40mm on just springs and i havent had any probs yet. you can get your bumpers colour coded mate to be all blue cost between £200 to £300 depending on what body shop you go to. i paid £160 for my colour coding. so if your local to brum ill point you in the direction of a good cheap place.
  14. #14
yeha i have left a post on the for sale area for 40mm springs so see what happens there

yeah tempted with all blue OR get the black side bumps put on, but that means i got to get a new VT kit which i dont know if i rly wanna do

thats good advice mate. 16s with 40 profiles on have the same overall diameter as a 15in vts alloy. 40mm shouldnt need any arch work and just changing the springs and adjusting the tortion bar is fine without uprated shocks.
  16. #16
Best advice I reckon is to see whats broke or damaged.

When repairing that item replace it if possibel with an item that will make a visual differance to the car. Headlights for example - you say they are wonky, well remove them check all the fittings and mounting points then refit with new Angle/Projectors.

That way you will be fixing the bad bits but replacing with nice more upto date bits
  17. #17
if you want it all blue mate your best bet is to just colour code the ones you have now and as your side strips are already done it might work out cheaper. i saw you post in the for sale thread mate, id recommend the spax 40mm springs and for the price hes selling them mate id snap them up. any more questions pm me as im off back to college.

  19. #19

    yeah but HOW lol
no idea where that is not worked with a tortion bar before only springs :s
  21. #21
if you know a garage that can fit springs then more than likley they can do torsion bars aswell, if not just fone around a few garages.

  23. #23
right what im gonna do....... been think about over lunch

lower the car 40mm! - in the for sale part of forum waitin for reply

this weekend try sort out the front light and change the front grill so going to put mesh on it - but if that goes wrong order the one off the website for 54 quid (plus mines broke at each end so thatw ill sort things out)

wanna try get hold of the black bumper strips for the side of the car and keep the black strips front and rear - so if u know ne 1 who wants to trade all bl;ue sides for black ones let me know

save up for a twin zorst on the back

get the front windows tinted with the same blue as the rear ones

and should be it what ya thinking guys?
  24. #24
well its mainly down to what you want your car to look like etc,

i eman when i get my vts then i know for certain before i touch the outside then im going to do my engine, clean my bay get as much polished up, possible mods such as 4-21 manifold etc, all them kinda or speed mods, but if your happy and want styling then such things as

meshing front grille cost about a fiver, just general tidying such as your front bumper seams to be hanging on the left, prossibly tinted lights, some orignal alloys on her, colour coded bumpers, tinted windows maybe?

Like is aid mainly personal choise, kitted cars to me appeal but i want a performance car when i get my second car definatly!

For the dual exit your probally be best off having a custom job as the Milltek and Scorpion dual exit systems are nice but really expensive.

Keep the cans to around the 3' size if your going Jap style cans for the best look.

You could try and wet'n'dry the side rubbing stripes to remove the Blue but to be honest I think Id be more inclined to have the bumpers colour-coded.

Colour-coded Blue VT's look stunning as seeing as the side have already been done then just get the bumpers done.

ha tbh i got them with the car! but i know they are power flow exhausts, custom built, at a local fuel store, the good thing about powerflow is theres a lifetime garentee if u get it checked out every year at your local fuel etc. Obviously you have to have the spare wheel removed for this system, but just think about it as weight loss and fit a sub instead lol

    hope this helps mate.

i have a feelin mine wont pass with the zorst i have at the mo as the brackets rubber things almost broke its held up by some strong wire so yeah before my MOT think ill be gettin that zorst system!
