Alcantara Steering Wheel

   Probably an old topic somewhere, but...
   
   ...I want to keep the original steering wheel but have it covered in suede/alcantara - rally style with the yellow tab at 12 o'clock.
   
   What I would like to know is: Has anyone else had this done? Were there any problems? How much did you/should I pay? Are there any other alternatives?
   
   I have been quoted £150 from a specialist trimmers in Huddersfield, but this seems a bit on the steep side to me - am I right?
   
   Sorry for all the questions but the plastic wheel is doing my head in!!!

   Hello matey,
   
   I should think thats not a bad price for suede, The trimmer will hve to buy a half hide to do it (so there £80) and it will take at least a couple of hours to do as its all hand stitching.

   N.B wont need any where near a whole half hide to do it, but thats minimum quantity usually

   could ask about having it flocked, basically statically charged fibres fired onto a sticky surface, like the rally dash's
