Ported and Polished Throttle bodie.

Hi could any body tell me if a port and polished throttle bodie would make much differance as some people say it does and some say it doesn't. thanks coppin.

what mods do you have atm?
  3. #3
I think it depends on mods you have done in all honesty, wont notice a massively huge difference

    In my own words:

Your car has a single throttle body (same as the VTS and other saxo models)
porting and polishing it I beleive will just improve the air flow at that point? So
technically should improve engine performance. I wouldnt imagine it would be
much, but maybe a slight increase in throttle response.

Sure somebody else can explain better than me bud!

what about me. i have 4-2-1-decat-straight through-scorpion backbox - green cotton filter behind headlight with heatsheild and cold air feed

    my car has:
    forced air induction kit
stright though stainless scorpian exhuast cat back.

basically mate all a port and polish does, is help the air to flow better with less resistance, which should lead to smoother delivery of air to the engine, but..... you will not feel a difference in performance imo

what reg is your saxo mate as the mk2's have a plastic t/b anyway, so they cannot be done!

i haven't bought a cat as of yet, but mines the 90bhp mk2 silvertop VTR so my cat is underneath the car, not in the manifold!

also, could we cut the text talk out please matey!
  14. #14
yeh mine is in the down pipe on kamracing it says that moving the oil filter is a possible option so might do that cheers
  15. #15
yeah, or just buy a mk1 oil filter instead

no problems matey was a funny read

personally theyre 'overhyped' by this forum, largely due to the fact two users actively sell them.

A BIGGER area for gas to flow iis not allways better, gas velocity is important in performance not just how much you get in through.

Theres a huge debate that will go on but due to the fact people sell them i cant be arsed to have a huge argument

Plus the fact that the throttle plate is the same size, so no real potential for any gains.

The arse-dyno is *not* a calibrated measuring instrument

arse-dyno, lol been a while since ive heard that one.
