    looks nice that stiffler
is it the same as a BMC ect? or shall i just spend an extra 50 and get one of them?

To be honest the bmc looks better and is a better fit but performance wise there isnt a great deal different and you will end up spending another 20-30 on getting the hosing for the bmc where as this just fitted straight on and everything needed came with it

Same engine on with a bmc and a good clean and silicone hosing

There are alot of totally enclosed filters these days, BMC CDA, Pipercross Viper, K&N Apllo to name but a few, its quite hard to compare performance with these filters as on rolling roads they have been know to lose bhp as there isnt the same kind of air flowing into the filters on a rolling road as there is on a open road plus the car is stationary on the rolling road and is only being feed via a fan.

And becuat these type of filters are totally enclosed they totally relay on their direct cold air feeds for all their air supply hence the lose in performance on the dyno machines.

Which is best out of these? Hard to say really, if your happy paying the extra then do if not by a slightly cheaper item.

Contact www.kam-racing.com as they sell BMC items, compare prices with them if you havent already.

i already have a pipercross viper on the car but i do not like the red colour of it in the engine bay and was looking for something a bit more swish and obviously one with better gains would be good, i just didnt want to go ahead and buy one and be completely ripped off and find its crap.

to be honest the ramair advert is so vague its not wrong at all. What you want to make sure is that it can flow enough air, and doesnt act as a restriction. The Green filters we sell with the Raceland package deal are good enough for 180-204 bhp depending on the model and the BMC CDA's come in different sizes for different cars...

I think like so many things in the world of aftermarket items, becuase its so hard to measure gains in performance its always hard to know what to chooce in terms of what it best for MY car.

I always say this about exhausts and to some extend airfilters these days . . .
Buy what you like the Look of as if your happy with the look of a items any gains in performance are a bonus

    Great advice there

    but

I'm more a "will it make my car faster / if so who cares if it looks gash" man

its not a shame wanting your car to look the nuts,
if you are putting all you can into it you want people to notice the effort you have used, right?
if not, there would be no point in moddifying at all surely
