i have just fitted a dimma bumper on my car and the dimma skin sticks out further than the arch, i am now finking about getin the arches smoothed in, how much should i expect to pay from the bodyshop

it will cost allot as it will all need respraying and fillered in. i would think about 300ish or even more

£300? You're dreaming mate. I think DevilDamo got quoted something like £2k to get his done as they basically have to respray the whole car again.

Remember that if you get the arches smoothed you also need to get your bump strips smooth in (including your doors) otherwise it'll look daft.

Your bumper shouldn't stick that far out though, mine didn't. Did they trim the top off of the original bumper to allow the Dimma to curve over them? Doesn't look like it, that's wht it sits so far out.

but he only asked to blend the arches to the back bumper. blending them in and respraying cant be that much as its only the arches and rear bumper that need respraying!

He didn't actually say he was getting the arches smoothed into the back bumper, just that he wanted the arches smoothed in

Even to just get the back arches blended into the bumper, it'd take alot of fibreglassing and filler to blend it in and make it look good so would be alot more than £300 IMO.

If you aren't wanting to blend the arches into the car it means that the blending and painting would need to be done on the car and would be a real ball-ache, so you'll probably get quoted a ridiculous price just to put you off lol.

I really wouldn't advise blenind the bumper into the arches if that's what you're thinking of, because any flex in that bumper is just going to cause the filler/fibreglass to crack. Just take it back to the bodyshop and tell them to fit it right

no the standard bumper hasnt been trimmed by the looks of it, cud you tell me what i need to do in order to make the dimma flush with standard arches

It wont sit flush, mine sat out a bit, but not as much as yours is. The bodyshop who did mine said that they had to cut off the top bits of the bumper where it joins the arch. Thats what will be stopping it curving round and sitting in line with the arch.
