Again Turbo Men

    Right.....

    Can you up the fuel flow using an AFPR with the saxo or is it all ECU controlled thus meaning you have no choice other than to use an MF2?

    its annoying me is the saxo at the mo as to turbo a 2.0 redtop all i had to do was literally fit the turbo with oil feed and up the fuel flow and wa la....job done!

    Also does the sax have a steel or aluminium sump???

    Yes upping the fuel pressure will up the injector flow. But its VERY limited and not as easy as you may imagine for these reasons.

    The amount of fuel pressure you can run is limited so the extra fuel you can have is very limited. So you cant get that much more furl. So you cant get that much more power.

    You really want to control the fuel pressure in relation to boost level for best results. So you still have to have some sort of control system. That or your car will be swinging dangerously form rich to lean.

    Then the big one, The stock ECU will eventually cut back on injector firing time if it sees the cars running rich. Or to spell it out stock engine running boost and under fuelling tend to end in something melting or going bang.

    So for a very low boost setup it could be used for a very basic and quite poor setup. But to put it in perspective if your running a low enough boost you can run a turbo on a totally standard engine. Say about 0bar. But there is no point.

    Same applied to the redtop.

    Sump is steel.

    How much boost do you want to run? For a worth while gain try one of these fuelling solutions;

    Get your car remap with bigger injectores if need be. Simple cheap and it works. Good if you dont want to mod again after.

    dastek unichip with bigger injectores if need be. Little harder to wire in and a little more limited. A little cheaper to remap after for any further mods.

    SigCon2 with MF2 and a 5th and if you like 6th injector. Then just pay some one to map it. Of if you know what your doing get a AFR and map it your self.

    Or good old stand alone. KMS are cheap these days and you can get them with wide band.

    Hi oadamo. Just out if interest what’s the spec of your setup and how much power was it running? I have seen a few turbo setups running a similar system with no intercooler but they were only showing around a 10-20bhp gains. Seemed a lot of work for not much power to me. If done well a 8psi setup could be maxing out standard injectors on stand alone management.

    hi i still have the car but its in bits now having a rwd conversion. i sold all the bits long ago. it was a supercharger off a mini. and a fse power boost valve. i used a puley off a transit alternator. the boost gauge showed 8psi and all i dont was keep winding up the pressure till it run ok. it wasnt perfect but it worked.the engine was standard. and the check valve was from jolleys pet store 50p lol

    Well i think the MF2 with bigger injectors and a 5th injector is the only way!!
