1.0-vtr

hey wats the story about joining a VTR engine and a 1.1 gearbox? does it work and does anyone have performance figures? thanx
  2. #2
1.1 box has shorter ratios so the car will accelerate better but it will have lower top speed basically
  3. #3
yeah thats exactly what i want..top speed limit in this countrys 70 anyway..i just wanna get there quicker ;-) would i need the main block, ECU and wiring loom? cheers
  4. #4
engine, loom, ecu and then gt ya key recodded at citroen 2 the ecu i think not 100% you might wan2 uprate brakes and suspension

it wouldnt damage my 1.0 gearbox though? and ive got an early mischeif so its a keypad immobiliser im afraid! would it be able to work or would i have to upgrade to a transponder c/l etc? also do you know how much i might be looking at to have it done? cheers

i think you can disable your imob and run ya car without not sure u will have 2 ask about i will try and find out for u though. Regarding ya gearbox i suppose it could damge it u would just have to try it it could be okay

thts dedication! im about to go to uni so im just rushing about trying to get my car done as im gonna have to either sell it or store it..either way i want to get it finished! btw wat do you think of it? ive dewipered and debadged it since that pic :-)
  10. #10
smooth m8 looks smart i am keeping mine looking as it is aprt from hid lights and vts rims and colour coded grill and black rear badges
  11. #11
tht should look nice! i wish i had a VTR/VTS!! the arches look so much better! and the fact i can only overtake tractors n old ppl doesnt help lol
  12. #12
would be a lot easier to buy a vtr and then put the new 1.0 box on
  13. #13
yeah but ive spent so much on the 1.0 lol!
  14. #14
i would have thought a vtr engine would just mash up a 1.0 gearbox
  15. #15
as far as i aknow it wouldnt mash it up so quick, like mentioned would be quiciker starst but lower tops, which aint that bad, i know round here you cant get it over bloody 30! but in due time your best of changing it, but it should run fine fopr a while, im going to be using a 1.1i gearbox so thats fine ive been told!

1.0 box is no weaker than a vtr or vts gearbox, 1.0 box on a vtr will be fine.

unplug your immobiliser while the car is running thats how u disable it then next time u start the car the immobiliser wont come into play
