    worth it?

    http://www.griffiths-engineering.co.uk/

    how do i fit it?

looks completely different from the B+M?
  2. #2
yeah i have one easy to fit, u get instructions wit it, took me 15min to fit mine and it really shortens the shift
  3. #3
do these not include the gearstick then?
i know the B&M ones are like the whole joint, stick, pivot and nob
is this simply a new pivot?
  4. #4
i used mattc's quickshift and i really liked it,
but not up for spending 100 quid on a shorter shift.

this is cheaper and will have the same effect.
  5. #5
how does it fit though? does your gearstick go through that hole in the middle?
  6. #6
woulda imagined it goes underneath the car?
  7. #7
Anyone got pics of it actually on the car or anyone that has fitted one did they take any pics along the way.
  8. #8
ill do a pic on paint for you
  9. #9

  21. #21
  22. #22

  23. #23
yeah mate im well impressed, it still longish from 1st to 2nd but compared to the rest of the gears, all the other gears are lovly lol
  24. #24
I dont get how it shortens the shifts? Whats the difference between this one and the B&M?
  25. #25
    My gearstick squeaks.
will this cure the problem El Banger_VTR?

having trouble fitting mine on a 03 reg vts, there just doesnt seem to be enought room. plus the millions of wires in the way

ps banger, you big bag of gay turd, take that pic of your avatar lol
  37. #37
Does a B&M makes it easier to change gear as i may get one?
  38. #38
do we all like the pic of belly in my avitar lol, yeah i recomend a load of wd-40 on it as its tight to get off, then u put sum copper slip on (jst alil) when putting it back on
  39. #39
i had one sold it to banger! they work alright 10 mins to fit!

does that mean you dont have to reach as far?

what makes it easier to shift?

which would you recommend? B&M or GE?
  42. #42
tbh when i put the GE in the change became alittle stiffer, a nice tight gear change, witch i think is betta

yes, throw is shortened. less to throw your gearstick potential faster gearchange?

B&M are the nuts, well worth the dosh, but im not rich, so GE it is.
  44. #44
thanks mate, does GE do the same job then? but just a cheaper option as it doesnt have the pull kit
  45. #45
karl. pop round and test out my knob. as i have a griffiths quickshift fitted

    nail on the head.

and as for you Mark ~ ok pal.
    will do sometime soon.
hows the lightened and balanced flywheel?
  47. #47
not sure yet.. car still in pieces
  48. #48
Just received mine this morning pretty quick to arrive, just wish it would stop raining so i could fit it lol
  49. #49
    nice nice,
let us know bud what its like to fit.
  50. #50
Fitted now, pretty easy but its a little awkward to get your arms through to tighten it up. Took it for a drive and found that in gears 2-4-R it wasnt going in properly but when i got back i looked and it was a plastic pipe full of cables(as you can see from the photo on the 106 link previously). http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a3...5/DSCF0685.jpgJust poped the hood and pulled them out the way now its ok. I would recomend this it is very noticeable the amout it shortens the gear throws by.
  51. #51
hoho ~ will order one next week then
  52. #52
Yeah pretty good for the price, not sure what the difference is between the b&m one and this though.
  53. #53
recieved mine today too will be fitting it when i can get in the garage, theres a load of gardening stuff in at the moment plus im waiting for the manifold so i can do both at the same time
the B&M one you get the hole shifter, probablies a bit better but this is worth a try ive heard good things from them
  54. #54
Yeah after looking at the photos of the B&M think its a better shifter but u get what u pay for and im a cheap skate lol! The only problem i can see with this Griffith quickshift is if it slides off as its only held in my a screw but hopefully it will be ok.
  55. #55
i may actually put a longer bolt in mine and drill a hole through the plate and put the nut on the end tbh, was looking at it and seems like it just grubs up onto it
  56. #56
mine is fine and shudnt slide off mate if the bolt is tightend up correctly, makes a canny difference imo
  57. #57
i imagine it does but my old linkage just wint come off, ive nearly drowned it in wd40 (and poisoned myself with it), pulled, levered, wrenched and it wont just "pop" off, im pretty sure im gonna end up snapping the gear rod im pulling so hard!!!
  58. #58
I've got a comp brake quick shift on my car with full metal selector rods. Made the gear change much shorter.

Although 5th feels odd, probably adjusted it to short lol
  59. #59
it finally fitted after my dad got under the car and pulled the linkage off in 2 secinds.

make a hell of a difference to the shift length.

    well worth £23.99

I tried getting onto to 106 forum but it won't let me. Is there a guide on here for the ge quick shift?
