Gearbox problem

   Hi all,
   
   Im having a rattling sound in first and second gear untill i hit reasonable revs, does this mean my gearbox is shagged or is it something else?
   
   Also if the box is shagged what boxes fit the saxo VTR i understand the VTR/S and 1.4 do? are there anymore and which is the hardest wearing?

   Well does it rattle when you have your car in nautral? and then dissapear when you put clutch down? if so i had this problem on the old VTR i had.....thought it wad the trust release bearings on the clutch but it turned out it was the gearbox trouble is i kept driving it intill one day......snap!!!! just went clutch pedal went to the floor the lot
   
   So yeh you try that mate and the rattle disapears once clutch is down more or less likel your box
   
   I think all saxo gearboxes will fit VTR's but best to stick with a VTR box mate......plus renew clutch while your at it saves you time and money in the long run trust me

   Got a little problem with gearbox, sometimes not hittin the gears. need to know where the gear linkage bolts are on the bulk head think needs tightenin up a bit. many thanks

   all 106/saxo boxes fit any model i think mate, just stick with the vtr one
