boot build - any ideas welcomed!

  1. #1
Hello, i am thinking of doing a simple boot build with 10" subs and an amp but i was just wondering what people would recomend. Obviously i would like blue subs and i really like these mounted upside down: adiobahn

My dream would to have one of these and i am enquring about one of these as i speak lol:

But as i said it would be a dream so any help would be great and also piccies!

    thanks fellow sax-p members

    Emma

EDIT: or if anyone has any decent websites, i have considered bassjunkies.

might do it like that but have two 10" blue subs at an angle

    what size is your sub?
  11. #11
My sub is at an angle.. it's not flat... i could have the sub box vertical.. but i think it looked neater that way around...

And i can adjust all my sub settings on my headunit depending on the angle of the sub so it still performs the same

i ment that i will have my subs coming from the corners of the boot at an angle, if you get me.

What sub size have you got?
  13. #13
i got a 2000 watt pyrimad amp it got remote for settings lol but wanna get audiobahn once u set ya amp up u dont need touch it agen
  14. #14
My sub is just a 10"... i like it.. nice and punchy sound... but i dont use it to play chav music... i have it set up to sound like an actual drum.. to give depth to the music... it's in a standard sub box specifically for the sub for improved sound quality...

The only trouble with having it on the angle is that there will be a gap behind it...

    Alex

EDIT: once i'd set up the main gain on my amp i haven't had to touch it... i can fine tune/adjust all the settings on the headunit...

i will make the boxes so there is no gap behind them as i shall make custom triangular boxes with perspex fronts

audiobahn imo are absolutely crap, remember its sound you listen to it not look at it

there poor because all the budget has been blown on making them look nice instead of the performance of them, there are a lot better subs out there for the money

most of you have seen my install, if you go into the premium guides it tells you how to build a fibreglass sub box, also have a look on talk audio theres a few guides on there for fibreglassing sub box's etc, but tbh id do on like alex's if you still want some boot space

the most important thing in an install is getting the RMS figures right, spend money on some decent wiring and battery and also sound deaden as much of the car as you can
  17. #17
i aint a premium member though im a tight arse lol

EDIT: i have my idea all in my head
  18. #18
false floor is the easiet one to do really but make sure you give your amp lots of air or it will melt
  19. #19
mines needs re doing a bit scabby

WHAT DO PEOPLE THINK TO THESE! Only problem is that they only come in 15" in the UK:

  21. #21
    No to those

Why do they have to be blue?

Why not black with blue carpet, then you have a shed loadof decent subs to choose from
  22. #22
because all my interior is blue so it would look OTT plus i like blue subs lol
  23. #23
You will be listening to your sub alot more than you look at it.So dont just buy a sub just because it looks good.I would stick to big names like,JL,RE-AUDIO,Alpine,Diamond ect for a sub.
  24. #24
ok as you lot said there arent many options regarding blue subwoofers so i will take any ideas/links/pics you have for me.

    Thanks

    Emma

P.S: try and keep alittle blue on them e.g. writing/logo LOL
  25. #25
them subs and the make are crap, like its saye there a pyle of crap

plus 15 inch subs are crap for bass imo, stick to 10s and 12s

if you give me a budget and list what you need ill get you a good system
  26. #26
lol i said they only come in 15" and i want 10" subs lol.

    BUDGET: £200 = 2 x 10" subs + amp

I DON'T NEED THE BOX AS I WILL MAKE MY OWN

    (any good?)
  27. #27
oh right, you wont get much with 200 pound for 2 subs and an amp to power them but ill have a look, think it will be JBL stuff though
  28. #28
As you said about going for 2 at an angle, i think something like what Predator_VTR has done would be good, but tbh thats copying his genius mind.
  29. #29
Pred got his off ebay though

Get some alpine type S's to cure your fetish, theyre shiny and have blue writing on them i bought one to match the posi blue saxo i used to drive, and because theyre made by a great company. Im well impressed with mine its really accurate and shows up a lot of my mates who have much more expensive set ups

i was looking at them! but bit pricey, may be my option, what amp would i use for them
  32. #32
pricey but actually decent subs, not ebay crap screwed together in a sweat shop. Harsh but true lol. I use a Blaupunkt GTA mono, which would be powerful enough to run two of them if i wanted. You can get deals though if you look around. i just had a quick browse and i couldnt see a deal on CAD or caraudiosecurity but bassjunkies etc might have something.

Its worth paying for the brand name though, youll regret it otherwise
  33. #33
i have looked on bass junkies, i cant find anywhere which does the Alpine Type 'S' in a deal
