Strut brace colour- opinions welcome

   Not sure if this is the right section, but I just want some
   ideas on the colour my strut brace should be.
   
   At the moment its red, and I thinnk it looks good.
   It looks motorsport'ish and stands out, and I quite like it,
   but I'm not sure if it goes with the rest of the engine bay.
   
   So I'm thinking of spraying it black and gold which will go
   better with the chrome goodies, and blue hose.
   
   What do you guys reckon??

   im thinking the same bout when i get mine. not sure if the re goes too well with the gold, but black or gold wouldnt stand out as much, same as calipers!

   why not spray it silver/chrome. will stand out then, and match your other chrome bits. would look good.

   yeah I've thought about chrome paint but not sure on the quality of the finish, does it look chrome or just tacky?

   as long as it matches i think it would look good, although im not a paint expert, lol.

   u could get the bar dipped in chrome. it would pretty much match ur other chrome bits and would still stand out

   Red does look good, not really sure if it matches anything else tho, Like blue would match your bmc, chrome dipping would match your chrome covers, black your engine pieces and gold your paint. Maybe a combination of some of those colours.

    Personally, I like the idea of having it painted blue. As danny said, it would match your BMC. Blue & gold go well together...

    leave it red trust me, i painted mine black and it was too subtle!

    cheers for all the opinions, I'm guessing that chrome dipping is expensive!
    I was going to get the e-tech one but its £75.
    I picked this up cheap at FCS for £25.
    Damn I wish I had chosen the red silicone hose now, lol

    As for the hose, imo, get a black one.

    i sprayed mines black to keep the black/gold theme going. i think it looks fine, better than the red did

    I dont know how expensive it is but theres no harm in findin a local place and askin. Might not be too high

    Chrome dipping isn't expensive atall really.
    
    It won't cost you alot to get that strut brace done... Phone up some places, get some quotes.
    
    If you don't want to spend money on it, just spray it black yourself.

    Yeah, My uncle got a load of chrome done for his kit car at a local place. Might ask him what the price was. I have some gold paint left from my grille so I'm tempted to do that.

    I would go with gold mate if you have still got some paint.Dont go with back because you will hardly see it in the bay.But chrome would look good aswell.

    here`s a picture in black with a black strut brace to give you an idea of what it would look like. fair enough it might not stand out but i like it. its up to you at the end of the day.

    Cheers for the pic mate, gives me a good idea now. Think I'm going to have a go at doing it gold hopefully I should have enough paint.

    I reckon chrome would stand out matey but as said wouldnt go over the top with the rest of the bay
