Will a Pannel Air filter fullfill my needs?

   Not in that way!
   
   basically I like the noise a induction thing provides(cant think of the correct name)- you know the one that you have heat shielding arround- well anyway, i like the noise of that, and currently have one on my 1.1, but when i get the vts i am thinking a pannel air filter is better for the car and safer, but would a decent pannel filter produce a similar meaty noise?
   
   The rest of the vts will be standard btw, and im not particularly after bhp gains just healthier breathing and bit of a purr.

   I dont think you are going to get much difference in noise with a panel filter? i havent tried it myself so not 100% Have you had a look at the BMC CDA?

   No i havent- im not really sure either, especially at this early stage, i just like the little bit of noise but not sort of stupid noise, just from the engine.
   
   I might be wrong i might be bein paranoid it may make sense to use a 'more common' induction kit although im just a perfectionist and to my unlearned head it just seems as though i might mess up the beauty of the vts lol.
   
   Im talking crap- so any help advice would go along way!

   As it's just a replacement for the standard filter I doubt it will give a different noise but I may be wrong. Also, it'll be more like an enclosed induction kit and they usually don't give off much sound. Does anyone know the cheapest place to get a panel filter as I'm looking for one for a vtr?

   readin thro the "big induction guide" i think i says tht panel filters will make no difference to the engine noise! if u want a subtle noise then get a enclosed or forced air feed kit mate!

    could always do the old skool thing and drill holes in the airbox, wouldnt recomend it but people did do it and it made it noisier
