Clutch slipping?

I'm not the best with these things so hopefully somebody can answer this.

I have a 97 mk1 Saxo and its on and off for the whole of today. When it wants to, the car revs more than it should, so the car is revving high but the speed isnt as fast as it usualy would be.

Ive had the car in nuetral and the revs had been up to 2000 without me even touching the accelorator. This seems to slow the car down, and sometimes make it shake or judder a bit.

The bite seems quite high so my first instinct was clutch had slipped but im no expert so any info would be much apprechiated.

    Cheers

I've just done a search (sorry for doing it after the post, I just paniced) and it seems this is common. People say its the clutch, but would anybody know which part of the clutch?

I ad the same problems as you described... But i was told it was the throttle Sensor. Got it replaced then everything was fine.

If it was one of those problems. How much would each 1 be to repair?
