quickshift... is this possible?

  1. #1
as I'm aware there are two types of quickshift kits...

the ones that bring the gearstick pivot up - B+M

and the ones that u fit underneath - griffiths

My question is... would it be worth fitting both kits or would the shift be too short?

    wot u guys reckon?

i dont think that fitting both would do anything, would think it would be pointless mate

i see where your comin from but it might make it too extreme as the griffith ones can be adjusted way too much anyway. ie wont go in gear if adjusted too short. stick to the griffith as its cheaper as just as good at doin the job

I heard quickshifts can ruin the syncro mesh in the gearbox not worth putting 1 in if you ask me

i dont think it would do anything, the griffiths is fairly short, i think if its too short it will fuck your gearbox tbh!

Dont know the technical term but i can change gear fast anyway, and with the griffiths if i did it tooo fast (obv faster than standards fine but if really push it) it started to make my gearbox crunch, dont no tech understand it was asthough the gearbox could not keep up!

stifflers right ive heard it as well, you tend to slam it in more with quickshift for some reason

deffo, only reason i got one is 1st 2nd is a life time just got it to shorten the through mainly but for speed i dont think the gearbox would last too long if hell for leather all the time

yeah you adjust the bolts on it if i remember right. that was on a 206gti though

a quickshift WONT kill the gearbox if you drive correctly.

you will kill a box the same as a standard shift mechanism if you keep raming it in gear. a smooth fast change can be fine!

thats what i was trying to put across, but its not the case, cos you only really want quickshift to change gear fast lol

Mine was fine if did it smooth but if wanted really fast then noooooo

yeah on 206 you can adjust saxo you cant, the screw part is to simply hold it on the linkage so it doesnt slide off

ive got eh TAS style quickshift and its spot on. the gear cahnge is much smoother. i did chop the stick (well landy did) and its a tiny bit too short. imo its a worth while mode even if your not after the quicker change.
