coolant temperature!

the temp gauge is always about 3/4 of the way!

Is it meant to be this or is there something wrong?
If there is something wrong!, how do i rectify it?

First time of being able to see the gauge, coz had a nova first and never needed to worrying obout that!

Any advice about this would be great!

does seem a little high. i take it the fan comes in and out if you let it idle and it's not over heating ? maybe try changing the thermastat(spelling) might be not opening fully

whats your antifreeze/water mix level at ?
If not, what MICKYB said , sounds a reasonable explanation. Saxo do run at quite a high temp, but not usually that high...

3/4 sounds about right. They do run very high. As long as it doesn't go into the red then its fine. Mine runs about 1/2 way until i hit traffic, then it rises to 3/4 and then the fan kicks in and it drops down again.

Although i am slightly paranoid about overheating cars seeing as i had a R5 GTT which boiled and an XR2i which very nearly did!

thats is what happens, it cools down now, it stays just above half way, so okay at the mo.!

So hopefully it'll stay there!

dont worry about mine is around 3/4 too most of the time. dont know why but some saxo temp stay in the 1/2 and some 3/4.

it s stay at better respectable 1/2 way point now!, so hopefully everything is okay now!, cheers for the help guys!
