Rallye Vs VTR

  1. #1
Ok i see lots of these threads vtr vs vts etc and i always think there daft.

however last night my mates s1 rallye camed. couldnt even get close to my vtr.

The rallye is a s1 so 100bhp standard its for after market exhaust. air filter and cams.

and my vtr is a phase 1 so 90bhp with a 4 branch, decat, exhaust and filter.

Now surely the rallye should have beaten me

The thing is sometimes there its not just pure figures that determin the winner, there are to many varables like engine age, condition, tyre condition and driver abilty.

Remember the Series1 is a 1300 and your R is a 1600 so you may have extra torque etc

'Vs' questions are very hard to answer as without being there its all either down to figures or personal views and opinions

Didnt think the s1 rally was 100bhp. thought the s2 was roun about 100? proberly wrong though

yeah i appreciate that, Its just i honestly thought id would have had me to be honest its mint condition and the engines just been rebuilt. mines in definatly worse condition than the rallye

in what way couldnt it keep up? like in straigh line, lower speeds, higher, corners?
  6. #6
Acceleration out of corners. cornering. along a straight line everything. It just couldnt get close once id pulled away.

Like I said the series1 is a 1300 Im sure and is uber light and nimble so he may have been quick off the line and in the bends but the extra grunt of the 1600 R should have you with the advantage.

If it was a series2 then you probally would have lost

yeah the s1 is a 1300, i thought the rallye would have had me but what can i say it didnt i cant belive it myself.

i would have thought it would of beein a bit quicker around and out of the corners
  11. #11
It depends on the driver too

s1 could not have correct gearbox (this is very common to happen)

or your mate cant drive or shit.
