How much in average do it cost to get four alloys Refurbished/Repainted?

Im thinking on getting them painted black if it doesnt cost to much...

    any ideas please.

I imagine you would save a lot more cash if you did them yourself. But at a
proper place for a 15" wheel its about £40 (that includes removing and refitting
    the tyre)

Cost me £30 a wheel without the tyres (and refitting tyres) on originally.

i sourced prices for this before i did it myself.

got quoted between 130 and 170 for four wheels to be powdercoated black.

also if you goto somewhere like tyrespot / national tyres they will remove your alloys and replace them for a tenner..

I got a few quotes... cheapest i found.. was £20 per wheel, as mine were in near enough mint condition anyway.. just needed a bit of sanding and painting... BUT they said i would have to get the tyres removed and then refitted... which i got quoted £15 per rim to have done.. as it needs rebalancing etc...

So £140 total... but to be honest.. i did them myself.. it set me back about £40-45 on materials.. but i think i've got a pretty decent results... not worth spending the extra £100...

thanks is it hard to do your self or not?

I have done a year at collage in vehicle refinishing so i am not 100% in the dark when doing it but i have never done something as big as alloys before.

Just painted the front's buddy... but with overspray... so if you looked from the front of the wheel it looks like the back is sprayed....

It's a fairly simple job... just takes time.. lots of time on prep work... if you do a half arse job it will look awful...

It's Rover METALLIC steel grey... make sure it's the metallic one though... as they do two versions stocked in most halfords stores...
It has an ever so slightly blue tinge to it... when dirty they just look like pug cossack grey.. that's the slightly darker version..

I dont think people realised how easy it is. It doesnt take long you just need to be confident and aslong as you leave it to dry for long enough you shouldnt get any problems. It saves you 100 quid, but then the spray will cost you a few quid.

I'm thinking of spraying my VTR alloys white and I have a posi blue vtr, not sure wether it would look ok or not?

How long do you have to leave them to dry just in the open air and can a heat gun help the drying.?

Its a long time scince ive done any spraying and cannt remember what the dry time between - primer , piant then lacquer.

Mine are already black but it looks boring to me. And im no good in photoshop!

I think the drying time between primer, paint and laquer is 24 hours between each (what it says on the can from what I can remember), with thin coats, should be about 15 mins between a coat with 2 or 3 coats of each spray??

I would just leave them to dry in a clean, dry atmosphere just to be safe rather than using a dryer.
