13 inch wheels

  1. #1
Hi, Just wanted to know if anyone is running a VTR on 13 inch wheels. This is the exact tyre size which i have seen Yok 175/50 R13. Can you tell how wide these wheels are gonna be? Will I have to modify anything to get these on my VTR i.e. Arches or Brakes.

    Many thanks

p.s Sorry if i am lacking sufficient information for response

    hey,

the width of the tyres will be 175mm... although the width of the alloy we wont be able to tell, especially if it's a 'euro' thing.

is there any particular reason why you want to put 13's on your saxo?

i had 13 on my lupo gti and the wheels would not grip and the tyres were new so there should ov been no grip problems but when i had 15s on it was fine

it'll be whether there is contact between the rim and caliper dude...

Cheers for the responses troops. Ad, the reason is because ive seen some nice (I think) looking wheels which I think might look nice on my car Im just not sure whether it will work well or not

They aint very wide mate, less wide than VTR rims i think theyre 185s. Look good in the chop tho

you know they're for mini's yeah? they wont fit on a saxo... or have you just seen them and fancy getting a set made up for your car?

width-wise. it wont be problem i would have thought... saxoash, s34mer, adz, and many others have 'euro' rims on and i dont think they encounter much scrubbing (well not now eh ash? )

some of the base models were fitted with 13" steelies. so provided the discs and calipers were the same size as your VTR (not the case) then they'll go on.

nor me soz, they do look good tho, just not on a sax

EDIT: i mean im not too keen on them
  13. #13
well they certainly wont rub on your arches... as ads said though its probably the distance between the disc and rim you'll need to worry about lol.... although my car had 13" wheels in its early life, so providign you dont have brakes off a lambo they should be fine.
We will need to know the measurements for the wheels though offset etc so say weather they will fit of not.

    IMO 15inch upwards nothing lower

well the backing plate on the rear trailing arm behind the brake setup will not fit under a set of 13" steel rims so you have to make sure the the inside diameter is big enough to allow room!

something i found out when transporting my VTR rear beam to garage.

You do realise they are Mini fitment as Ad's said they will not fit:

    Saxo: 4x108
    Classic Mini: 4x100

And dont go smaller than 14" and than photoshop is way too low it wont even move its on the ground lol
