cutting slam panels and oil breather filters

  1. #1
The BMC and raceland scoop combo came today, ive fitted it and its brill can fault it

    except:

their is oil pissing over my exhaust for now cause I need a breather filter

what diameter breather do I need?

motorworld up the road have 9mm and 12mm in stock

    and also:

I seen the thread a while ago about cutting the slam panel to allow more air into the scoop ( i was supprised how little gets in )

anybody any pics of where they have cut theirs?

I was thinking about a 2 or 3 inch square that I could make nice and neat and put a bit of mesh in to smarten it up ( MK2 VTR Btw )

    Cheers Sax-P

a good place to cut would probably be in front of the filter.........

do you not get a pipe to join the breather to the induction pipe with racelands??? another reason why they are cheap...................................

Its a BMC CDA but with the cold are pipe took off and a raceland scoop fitted

the only part of the raceland is the scoop, BMCs need a breather

oh right, use a samco elbow then. they have the pipe for the breather.

Samcos are too dear, for the sake of a £6.99 breather Id rather do that TBH

i wouldnt be cutting anything on the slam panel tbh, will seriously reduce strength imo

I chopped the cunt out of my slam panel. Wouldnt worry unless you absolutely baldy it. As williams says, just work out where the scoop is and cut that. I chopped mine then moved the radiator down about an inch and a half so the green intake was sucking clear air from directly behind the grille.

yeah looks as though the rad could do with being a bit lower

the slam panel is a bolt in panel, I wouldnt of thought it to be very stuctuaral, i think im just gonna drill some neat holes behind the grille and infront of the scoop
