Wrong gearbox

   Ever since ive had my VTR im sure its felt as if its being held back. Also my gear box is very loose. Is it possible its got a 1.4 gearbox in,and thats why its so loose, and holds back???
   Or
   COuld it be the supra airfilter??
   
   Any advice greatful!!!!

   The 1.4 and VTR gearboxes are very similar... iirc – they have different ratios and different final drives, but the overall ratios are almost exactly the same - doubt you would be able to notice a difference between the two.
   
   Not too sure why it’s loose? How many miles has it done? Could try replacing the gear linkages?
   
   I don’t know what a "supra" air filter is... post some pics - if its an open cone filter it will most likely slow you down

   Urm its a suberu airfilter. Feels like its pulling it back, stange to explain!. So it more than likely the Airfilter, raither than the gearbox.
   MOTs dont pick up gearbox do they?

   sounds more engine than gearbox.
   
   if its loose its prob because its been abused by people who cant drive.
   
   take the shitty filter off.
