Will I Need A New Clutch?

  1. #1
Well as some of you know i blew the gearbox and its pissing oil everywhere, the clutch only slipped twice at high revs, people say once it has oil on it, it needs to be changed???

Will i deffo need a new one or not?

Bit skint, it doesnt slip when driving it was only when it was at really high revs Surely the oil would just burn off anyway?

Yes if oil has been on it. For the sake of £80 and piece of mind just buy a new clutch

would be best to replace the clutch at the same time mate

Replace clutch im afraid matey. Best to do it while the gearbox is being changed. Don't want it all apart again to replace the clutch in a few weeks time when its slipping.

When i cooked the box in my VTR, i bought a second hand box and a brand new LUK Clutch, the clutch cost me 80 sheets...

    Box - 100
    Clutch - 80
    Fitted - 100

All in 280, just to give u a rough idea on what its prob gunna cost if you dont fit it yourself

when are you wanting the box done for mate?

im back on maybe monday or tuesday, could do it when i get back, save you paying someone to do it.
its a bit of a twat to do, but i have donea few now and all have gone well, got all the gear for doing it.

you will need some new gearbox seals for the driveshafts from citroen or eurocarparts and some gearbox oil too
i would just fit a new clutch, saves all of the hassle of putting the new box on and then it going in a few weeks time (you dont seem to have had much luck lately, so that may happen lol)

let me know what you want to do??
